Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib is a well-known Saudi physician and entrepreneur who has significantly impacted healthcare services in the Gulf region. He founded Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group, one of the largest and most advanced healthcare networks spanning across Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Bahrain. Beginning his career in pediatric medicine, Dr. Al Habib combined his medical expertise with innovative business strategies, creating healthcare services that set the benchmark for quality and innovation in the Middle East.

He was once the Head of Pediatrics at Security Forces Hospital in Saudi Arabia.

Born on March 17, 1953, in Jeddah, Sulaiman Al Habib spent his formative years studying in the schools of Madinah. He pursued his medical education at King Saud University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Medicine. Dr. Al Habib later traveled to the UK where he specialized in pediatrics, earning Fellowship from the Royal College of Pediatrics in 1984, along with a diploma in Child Health.

Sulaiman Al Habib was married to Al-Jawhara bint Abdullah Al Habib, who passed away on June 19, 2010. Together, the couple raised a family with several sons and daughters.

– Founded Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group (HMG) in 1995.

– Served as Assistant Professor and later Chief Physician at King Saud University.

– Held the position of Head of Pediatrics at the Security Forces Hospital in 1987.

– Consulted for the Saudi Ministry of Health for three consecutive years.

– Was a board member of Riyadh’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 2005–2008.

– Led the Medical Committee in Riyadh’s Chamber of Commerce.

– Al Olaya Medical Complex, opened in Riyadh (1995), marking the group’s inception.

– Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Al-Rayan, Riyadh (2010).

– Women and Maternity Hospital established in 2008.

– Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Specialized Hospital (opened in 2012), a leading cardiology and cardiovascular surgical center in Saudi Arabia.

– Dubai Healthcare Complex, serving UAE residents.

– Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in Al Sweidi, Riyadh.

– Medical University Center at King Abdullah Medical City, Bahrain.

The medical group also made headlines by investing SAR 3 billion in two advanced Digital Hospitals in Jeddah, creating over 5,000 employment opportunities for the city’s young graduates. Additionally, in 2015 the group’s IPO launch was considered the second-largest in the Middle East in five years, following the National Commercial Bank IPO.
