Techne Summit 2025 Teams Up with Arageek for MENA Innovation Week

Techne Summit is gearing up for another big year, and this time **Arageek** is coming on board as an official media partner for the 2025 edition. The summit, which has become something of a flagship for tech and entrepreneurship in the region, will run as part of Egypt’s Innovation Week, with sessions in Cairo on 29–30 September before heading up to Alexandria from 4–6 October.

The scale is, frankly, impressive. We’re talking more than 60,000 participants representing upwards of 70 countries, alongside 350 speakers and 150 investors. That’s not just a few panel chats over coffee – it’s a genuine hive of opportunity. From startup pitch battles and mentoring circles to those informal ‘meet and greet’ sessions that can sometimes turn into game-changers, Techne has built a bit of a reputation as the place where ideas actually meet action.

I remember my first exposure to a gathering of this size a few years back – not Techne itself, but a smaller cousin event in Amman. The buzz in the halls was unforgettable. You could see founders scribbling on notebooks in cafés, investors pacing with phone calls, and students gingerly approaching CEOs for a chat. It taught me that these conferences are more than stages and slides – they’re living ecosystems. Techne seems to be cut from the same cloth, but at several times the scale.

This year, Arageek has set plans to go beyond the usual play-by-play reporting. Expect daily rundowns, behind-the-scenes takes, and a closer look at the sessions tucked away from the limelight – the workshops, the coaching labs, the offhand comments that often reveal more than the official speeches. That said, there will still be plenty of coverage on the big-ticket keynotes and the glittering announcements.

On the flip side, the logistics of cramming thousands of attendees into one city over a few days can be a bit of a faff – but if past editions are anything to go by, the organisers have learnt how to keep the machine running.

Personally, I reckon what makes Techne stand out is how it balances inspiration with what you might call “do-ability”. Grand visions are fine, but founders in the MENA region are often looking for something more hands-on: introductions to angel investors, credible feedback on a pitch, or even just the confidence boost of meeting others treading the same path.
