Project Suppliers has closed a SAR 3.75 million pre-seed round, drawing backing from a group of angel investors, as the Saudi startup pushes deeper into cash flow management tools powered by AI for the construction and supply chain market.
The company operates a tech platform focused on direct and secure connections between suppliers and buyers in construction and procurement. It is a niche that can sound a bit dry on paper, but anyone who has spent time around contractors knows this part is where plenty of the real headaches begin. At Arageek, we often see founders tackling flashy consumer problems, yet the less glamorous back-office bits can be just as important, maybe more.
Project Suppliers says its recent momentum helped pave the way for the round. The platform now works with an updated database of more than 12,000 suppliers and contractors, and it has handled around 600,000 requests for quotations. Alongside that, it offers a specialist search engine and digital tools aimed at helping contractors and suppliers manage quotation requests, track progress and access instant reports. For firms in a sector where paperwork can be a faf, that sort of operational visibility could prove spot on.
The fresh capital is meant to help the startup turn its growing data pool into a fuller package of cash flow management solutions tailored for businesses and suppliers in the MEP segment, meaning mechanical, electrical and plumbing supplies. The plan is to use AI to analyse the operational data already generated through the platform, then build smarter predictive and financing tools that can ease liquidity pressures, shorten long collection cycles and improve supply chain efficiency.
That matters in Saudi Arabia, where large-scale projects tied to Vision 2030 continue to move at full tilt. The construction and MEP industries are central to that pipeline, but delayed payments and stretched settlement periods between contractors and suppliers remain a stubborn issue. I reckon this is one of those problems that does not always make the loudest headlines, yet it can quietly choke growth for smaller firms trying to keep up.
Commenting on the raise, Hossam Jaber, co-founder and chief executive of Project Suppliers, said the round comes at a pivotal time and underlines the platform’s role as a tool that combines operational links with smart financial solutions. He said the MEP supplies and construction sector forms the backbone of major projects in the kingdom under Vision 2030, but still faces structural challenges in cash flow management and delayed financial settlement cycles between contractors and suppliers. He added that the Saudi market presents an exceptional opening for major technological and financial transformation, with the company building from real operational data spanning hundreds of thousands of quotation requests and projects to develop AI-backed cash flow products.
And believe it or not, this is landing at a time when Saudi Arabia is also accelerating support for fintech and broader construction-sector modernisation. Project Suppliers is preparing to roll out its new financial and technology package for contractors and suppliers serving the MEP and construction industries across Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf.
On the flip side, plenty of startups promise AI for old industry problems, and I’m not a fan of vague claims dressed up as innovation. Still, Project Suppliers seems to have one useful thing in hand already: a sizeable stream of live transaction and quotation data from a very specific market. If the company can turn that into practical tools for payment forecasting and working capital support, rather than just dashboards and buzzwords, it may have something genuinely useful on its hands… and that could be chuffed to bits news for suppliers long squeezed by slow cash cycles.
