Rafid Automotive Solutions has partnered with digital insurer Shory to simplify motoring tasks.

Customers can secure insurance immediately after inspections, cutting queues and paperwork.

The tie-up merges Rafid’s vehicle services with Shory’s paperless, instant policies.

Backed by Sharjah Asset Management, Rafid aims for “fully integrated digital services”.

Success depends on seamless execution, but promises a more connected driver experience.

Rafid Automotive Solutions has entered a strategic partnership with Shory, the digital insurance platform known for its paperless policies, in a move designed to make life easier for motorists in Sharjah and beyond. On paper, it’s a straightforward collaboration. In practice, it could smooth out one of the more tedious parts of owning a car.

The agreement was signed by Ahmed Jumaa Al Mashrakh, Managing Director of Rafid Automotive Solutions, and Aoun Al Smadi, CEO of Shory. The two companies are bringing together their respective strengths: Rafid’s established footprint in vehicle services – think roadside assistance and technical inspections – and Shory’s fully digital insurance platform, which allows customers to buy cover and receive policies almost instantly, without the usual paperwork.

Speaking about the partnership, Al Mashrakh described it as an important step in Rafid’s journey towards delivering fully integrated digital services through its app. He noted that the aim is to focus on customer convenience and faster transactions, adding that merging Rafid’s operational expertise with Shory’s digital solutions should result in a more efficient and innovative experience for motorists.

At its core, the collaboration is about timing. After a vehicle inspection, customers will be able to secure insurance immediately, cutting down the back-and-forth that can slow down renewals or vehicle registration. Anyone who has stood in a queue waiting for paperwork to be stamped will know it can be a bit of a faff. This approach, if executed well, could be spot on.

Shory, for its part, offers a range of insurance products beyond motor cover, including home, travel and health policies. The company operates across the UAE and Saudi Arabia and has built its reputation on speed and transparency. That regional footprint makes it a logical partner for Rafid as it pushes forward with its digital transformation plans.

And believe it or not, these kinds of integrations often make the biggest difference in small, everyday moments. I remember speaking to a founder at a Sharjah mobility event who said the future of automotive services in the region would hinge not on flashy tech, but on removing friction. He was chuffed to bits about a pilot that shaved 15 minutes off a routine process. It sounded minor, but for customers, those minutes add up.

Rafid Automotive Solutions operates under Sharjah Asset Management, the investment arm of the Government of Sharjah. That backing gives it room to experiment and scale digital initiatives that strengthen its service offering and market competitiveness.

On the flip side, partnerships like this always depend on execution. Seamless integration between inspection systems and insurance platforms is easier said than done. Still, I reckon the direction of travel is clear. Customers increasingly expect to sort insurance on their phones, in minutes, without printing a single sheet of paper.

If Rafid and Shory deliver what they are promising, the result could be a more connected, definately more convenient experience for drivers in the emirate – and perhaps a small but meaningful step in the wider digital shift happening across the region’s mobility sector.
