Recently, Vibes AlUla announced the launch of its latest edition of the "Rowad AlUla" startup accelerator, aimed at championing local entrepreneurs and small businesses in the region. Their three-month intensive training programme kicks off from July 1st and will run until November, with registrations open till the 26th of June—so better hurry if you're keen.
The accelerator programme is pretty comprehensive, covering key fields such as retail, agriculture, tourism, food and beverage, and local culture. Their target crowd is mainly small and micro businesses whose ventures are already generating some revenue—so they're not "throwing money to the winds", so to speak. Participating businesses will get tailored mentorship sessions, specialised workshops, and those priceless chances to pitch their projects directly to investors.
And believe it or not, the previous edition was quite the success story, generating a combined total of over 6.88 million Saudi Riyals in revenue—that's about a 38 percent increase compared to before they joined. On top of that, participants made over 15 strategic partnerships happen and created more than 55 new job opportunities—nothing short of impressive if you ask me.
To tell you the truth, initiatives like Rowad AlUla resonate perfectly with what Arageek is all about—spotlighting entrepreneurial drive and celebrating empowerment across the MENA region. Personally, I'm not a hige fan of accelerators or incubators that charge fees at startup stages, but thankfully, this one's free (and yep, that's spot on).
For anyone keen to level-up their small businesses in AlUla, this is clearly a unique opportunity. But just to keep it real, participants must attend in person at the Vibes AlUla facility. So if you're in AlUla, it seems like a no-brainer, right? After all, you can't really beat hands-on support and face-to-face networking when you're building a business.
