Saudi Arabia and Humane Forge Human-Centred AI Partnership Ahead of FII9

3 min
The FII Institute has partnered with Humane to advance AI innovation in Saudi Arabia.
This alliance aims to develop human-centred AI solutions and boost public-private cooperation.
Humane will debut new AI products during the Future Investment Initiative conference in 2025.
Their focus includes creating AI ecosystems with data centres and sophisticated language models.
Saudi Arabia is committed to becoming a global leader in both human and artificial intelligence.
Just days before the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) kicks off in Riyadh next October, the FII Institute has signed a new strategic partnership with Humane, a Public Investment Fundābacked company specialising in advanced artificial intelligence systems. The move, announced ahead of the conference set for 27ā30 October 2025, underscores Saudi Arabiaās ambition to cement its global leadership in AI innovation.
At its core, this partnership is all about widening the horizon of humanācentred AI research and boosting cooperation between the public and private sectors. The idea is to build robust digital ecosystems that can fuel innovation and feed into the broader knowledge economy. Having watched the Kingdomās tech scene for some time, I reckon this is yet another clear signal that AI isnāt just a buzzword here ā itās a pillar of longāterm strategy.
According to **Tariq Amin**, Humaneās CEO, joining forces with the FII Institute gives the company an international platform to speed up the development of responsible, humanāimpactādriven AI. He hinted that Humane will be unveiling a series of new products and partnerships during the FII9 forum ā a sign thereās plenty brewing behind the scenes.
Formed only in May 2025, Humaneās already got quite the setāup. Itās rolling out a full AI ecosystem covering nextāgeneration data centres, highāperformance cloud computing platforms, and even large language models like **ALLAM**, one of the first major Arabic multimodal frameworks of its kind. The company says its focus goes well beyond tech showmanship ā the goal is to design AI solutions that can genuinely transform key economic sectors.
When I think back to some of the early founder meetups weāve covered at **Arageek**, I canāt help but notice how much the tone around AI has shifted ā it used to be a bit of a faff convincing people that Arabicālanguage models could compete globally. Not anymore. This tieāup between FII and Humane may not hit every mark instantly, but itās spot on as a strategic foundation.
That said, the world will be watching closely. These sorts of alliances are big news, but the real question is how they translate from sound bites into outcomes. And as always, we at Arageek will be the first to cheer any initiative that helps startups and innovators across the MENA region tap into this growing AI infrastructure ā even if it means, well⦠getting a bit nerdy about data pipelines along the way.
Either way, Saudi Arabiaās message is loud and clear: the future itās building is powered by intelligence ā both human and artificial. And I, for one, am definately curious to see where that blend leads next.
