Tunisia’s premier second-hand fashion marketplace, Dabchy, has successfully secured a pre-Series A funding round led by Janngo Capital, alongside key angel investors, including Karim Beguir, founder of InstaDeep. Although the financial details remain undisclosed, the investment is expected to fuel the startup’s expansion into Egypt, strengthen its platform, and diversify its product offerings.
Founded in 2016 by Ameni Mansouri, Ghazi Ketata, and Oussama Mahjoub, Dabchy has emerged as a pioneer in circular fashion across North Africa and the Middle East. The platform simplifies the resale of pre-owned clothing, offering a seamless experience for buyers and sellers through an integrated delivery and payment system.
Bringing Sustainable Fashion to a Wider Audience
With the growing global shift toward sustainable consumerism, Dabchy is playing a key role in the region’s circular economy, encouraging shoppers to embrace second-hand fashion as an eco-friendly alternative to fast fashion.
“This investment strengthens Dabchy’s role in Tunisia’s circular economy and accelerates our expansion into Egypt and beyond,” said Fatoumata Bâ, Founder and Executive Chair of Janngo Capital.
Expansion Plans and Platform Enhancements
Dabchy’s growth strategy focuses on three key areas:
- Market Expansion: Entering Egypt, a major e-commerce hub, to tap into a larger user base.
- Platform Development: Improving features for a better buying and selling experience.
- Product Diversification: Offering a broader range of fashion categories to cater to evolving consumer preferences.
“This funding will help us scale our platform, expand our reach, and improve the overall user experience for our growing community,”
said Ameni Mansouri, CEO and Co-founder of Dabchy.
Positioning Itself as a Regional Leader
Dabchy’s commitment to sustainable fashion aligns with global efforts to reduce textile waste, a pressing issue in the fashion industry. By leveraging technology, the company is reshaping how consumers engage with second-hand clothing, making it an attractive and environmentally responsible choice.
With fresh funding and ambitious expansion plans, Dabchy is poised to redefine the second-hand fashion market in North Africa and the Middle East, offering a tech-driven, sustainable alternative to conventional fashion retail.
