Core42 and Data Dynamics partner to prepare UAE organisations for AI.

They tackle “messy, unclassified” data slowing projects and raising compliance risks.

The platform scans, maps and governs data, embedding automated controls.

Sovereign cloud options protect classified information and meet UAE regulations.

The message is clear: sort the data backbone before chasing AI.

Core42, the G42-backed sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure provider, has entered a strategic partnership with US-based Data Dynamics to help organisations in the UAE get their data houses in order before diving deeper into AI.

On paper, it’s about compliance and governance. In reality, it’s about something much simpler, making sure data is actually usable, secure and fit for purpose before companies pour money into artificial intelligence. And believe it or not, that’s still a sticking point for many organisations.

Across the UAE, businesses juggling on-premises systems, cloud setups and hybrid environments are finding that messy, unclassified and poorly governed data can quickly become a bit of a faff. It slows AI rollouts, increases regulatory exposure, and quietly drives up costs. I’ve seen startups in the region brimming with ambition but tripped up by basic data hygiene. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s definately necessary if AI is to deliver real outcomes.

The new collaboration brings together Core42’s advisory, sovereign cloud and managed services with Data Dynamics’ AI-powered data management platform. The idea is to first establish a clear baseline: how much data an organisation has, what quality it is, how risky it might be, and whether it actually matters. From there, Data Dynamics’ platform scans and maps information to flag redundant, obsolete or sensitive content, while also identifying high-value assets.

Once mapped, governance frameworks are defined in line with regulatory and business requirements. These are then enforced through automated controls, including role-based access, data masking, policy-driven mobility and migration tools, and workflows designed to remediate risk. In short, rules are not just written down; they are embedded into the system.

Core42’s role extends to identifying exposure points and implementing mitigation measures such as data loss prevention and privacy governance aligned with UAE regulations. The platform can automatically quarantine risky data, manage permissions and enforce access policies consistently across environments. Delivered as part of a Core42 AI Service, the solution also includes continuous optimisation, drift analysis and lifecycle management to ensure controls remain effective over time.

One interesting detail is the integration with Core42’s Sovereign Public Cloud Insight platform. This allows technical and policy controls over certain classified data in public cloud environments, a sensitive issue for public sector entities and heavily regulated industries. There is also the option to deploy in a disconnected private cloud, which could make life easier for organisations that need tight control while conducting ongoing data classification and compliance monitoring.

Talal M. Al Kaissi, Chief Executive Officer at Core42, said AI readiness begins with understanding data clearly and building on information that is categorised, trusted and accurate. He noted that embedding governance into the operating layer allows organisations to use data with confidence, moving from ambition to execution.

Piyush Mehta, CEO of Data Dynamics, highlighted the risks of unowned and unlabelled data, pointing out that modern regulations require continuous classification, access control and auditability. He said the combined approach with Core42’s sovereign infrastructure provides regulated organisations with a trusted path to AI readiness and could help shape global standards for sovereign data operations.

That said, partnerships like this are increasingly common as AI adoption accelerates. The difference often lies in execution. I reckon the focus on sovereign infrastructure, particularly in a region where data residency and national control matter deeply, gives this tie-up added weight.

For readers at Arageek who are building or scaling in the MENA region, the message is straightforward: before chasing the AI headline, sort the data backbone. It may not be the most exciting headline grabber, well… I mean, no one throws a party for data classification. But if done right, it can quietly unlock transformation that is spot on, secure and sustainable.

And in today’s compliance-heavy world, that foundation is not just helpful — it’s essential.
