du and Network International Join Forces to Streamline SME Digital Operations

du and Network International joined forces to boost UAE SMEs in digital payment processing.
Their platform combines connectivity, payment processing, and point-of-sale systems for seamless business operations.
Fahad Al Hassawi emphasised being a "comprehensive business growth partner" for SMEs' development.
The partnership will also explore emerging tech like AI and blockchain to enhance security.
This alliance aims to ease SME challenges, fostering a more connected UAE business landscape.
When I first heard that du and Network International were teaming up, it felt like one of those partnerships that just makes sense. During Expand North Star 2025 in Dubai, the two firms signed a memorandum of understanding that could give small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) a real leg up in the UAEās fast-moving digital scene. The idea? To roll connectivity, payment processing and point-of-sale systems into a single, all-in-one platformāsaving business owners from juggling too many providers (a bit of a faff, if you ask me).
du is already known for its strong telecom and digital services, while Network International has its finger on the fintech pulse across the Middle East and Africa. Put the two together, and youāve got a platform designed to let merchants accept payments online and in-store without a hitch. Itās aimed squarely at SMEs looking to streamline their operations and scale up without pouring huge sums into infrastructure from day one. I reckon thatās spot on for many startups that Arageek often hears fromāthose trying to do more with less but still eager to compete at the top end.
Fahad Al Hassawi, duās CEO, described the move as a shift towards being a ācomprehensive business growth partner,ā providing everything a company needs to āconnect, sell and grow.ā That phrase might sound like marketing fluff, but considering how scattered the SME tech landscape can be, thereās real value in offering secure, integrated solutions under one roof.
On the flip side, Network Internationalās Group CEO, Murat Cagri Suzer, framed the collaboration as part of a broader mission to build more inclusive digital economies. He spoke about making payments āsimpler, smarter and more secure,ā pointing out that access to efficient digital payments can genuinely transform how small businesses operate. He certainly wasnāt wrongācashless transactions have become a lifeline for SMEs trying to keep pace with the UAEās digital economy push.
The partnership isnāt stopping at payments, either. Both companies said theyāre keen to explore emerging tech like artificial intelligence, blockchain and real-time payment systems to bolster speed and security. From what Iāve seen across the region, that sort of innovation can erase many of the growing pains businesses face. Theyāll also be backing the rollout with education initiatives to show merchants exactly why going digital pays off.
For those of us at Arageek who spend our days digging into startup journeys, this kind of collaboration hits close to home. Weāve seen too many ambitious founders caught between clunky payment systems and limited network options. If du and Network International really deliver on this unified model, it could take a serious load off entrepreneursā shoulders.
All told, the alliance looks like a clever moveābuilt on shared strengths and a taste for experimentation. It might not solve every SME challenge overnight, but itās a definite step toward a smoother, more connected business landscape in the UAE. And believe it or not, such practical partnerships are often the quiet revolutions that shape the regionās digital economy for years to come.
