EFG Hermes & KidZania Cairo Bring Stock Trading to Life for Young Investors

EFG Hermes and KidZania Cairo launch a unique stock market simulation for children aged 8 to 14.
Young participants will trade stocks using "KidZos," KidZania’s in-house currency, mimicking real-world transactions.
Stock prices will fluctuate based on demand generated by kids actively engaging in the simulation.
The initiative fosters financial literacy by helping children understand investments, market dynamics, and financial decision-making.
EFG Hermes aims to empower the next generation with practical money management skills through this immersive experience.
When it comes to finance, most children rarely get the opportunity to learn beyond basic saving habits. But now, thanks to a partnership between EFG Hermes and KidZania Cairo, kids can dive into the exciting world of stock trading in a way that’s both educational and entertaining.
This initiative brings the first-ever stock market simulation for young investors to KidZania, a popular interactive city where children learn through role-playing. The new experience allows kids to step into the shoes of investors and trade stocks using KidZos, the official currency of KidZania, providing them with a realistic yet risk-free environment to grasp essential financial concepts.
The simulation is powered by a simplified version of EFG Hermes ONE, a stock trading app tailored for young users. To make the experience more dynamic, stock values will shift based on demand, meaning the more kids invest in certain businesses, the higher their stock prices climb—just like in real life. With 35 real-world brands featured in the simulation, participants will gain insights into how investments grow and fluctuate over time.
For Ahmed Ibrahim Habib, CEO of KidZania Cairo, this initiative is about bridging the gap in financial education, he explained:
“We believe that introducing financial literacy at an early age can empower children with the skills they need to make informed financial decisions in the future. This partnership allows them to learn by doing, which is the best way to retain knowledge”
May El Gammal, Group Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at EFG Holding, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the broader mission behind the project, she said:
“At EFG Holding, we are committed to equipping young minds with the tools to navigate the financial world. By bringing stock trading to KidZania Cairo, we’re not just teaching kids about finance—we’re shaping a generation of informed investors.”
Beyond just buying and selling stocks, children will learn valuable lessons in risk assessment, financial planning, and market trends—all in a controlled, interactive setting. The initiative is set to become a permanent feature at KidZania Cairo, providing thousands of children each year with an engaging introduction to the financial world.
By turning financial education into a hands-on adventure, EFG Hermes and KidZania Cairo are setting the stage for a future where children grow up with a deeper understanding of money, investments, and smart financial choices—long before they ever set foot in a real stock exchange.
