MoneyHash is doubling down on Oman. The Dubai-based payment orchestration platform has partnered with Thawani Pay, the first licensed fintech and payment solutions provider regulated by the Central Bank of Oman, in a move that strengthens its footprint in the Sultanate.
The tie-up builds on MoneyHash’s broader strategy to deepen its presence in Oman, tapping into an existing network of payment providers while expanding local coverage. In simple terms, businesses using MoneyHash will now be able to plug into Thawani’s infrastructure and operate within Oman’s payment ecosystem without having to rebuild their systems from scratch. For founders, that is not a small thing. Anyone who has tried to expand regionally knows payments integration can be a bit of a faff.
At the heart of the partnership is MoneyHash’s orchestration layer. This technology allows companies to manage multiple payment providers, optimise transaction routing and keep track of performance across markets, all through a single integration. Instead of juggling several gateways and dashboards, merchants can rely on one central system. I’ve seen startups burn time and cash stitching together payment stacks market by market, so I reckon a unified set-up like this makes a real difference.
Nader Abdelrazik, Co-Founder and CEO of MoneyHash, said that scaling payments today is less about adding more providers and more about building adaptable systems. Through the collaboration with Thawani Pay, he noted, businesses can operate in Oman with the same visibility and control they have across their wider payment operations, while benefiting from strong local infrastructure.
Founded in 2016, Thawani Pay has become a key player in Oman’s digital payment landscape. Licensed by the Central Bank of Oman, the company provides online payment solutions, bill payments and transaction processing across sectors, including government services. Its infrastructure is backed by PCI DSS certification, which ensures secure handling of card data and builds trust among merchants and users alike.
Majid Al Amri, Founder and CEO of Thawani Pay, said the company’s aim is to make digital payments more accessible and reliable. Working with MoneyHash, he added, will help support businesses operating in Oman with flexible solutions and a solid foundation for growth.
And believe it or not, this is part of a much bigger play. MoneyHash’s network now spans more than 350 connections, supporting over 150 payment methods across 40+ markets. By extending that network into Oman through Thawani, merchants gain access to local gateway providers while maintaining consistent performance and control across their regional operations.
On the flip side, competition in payment infrastructure across MENA is heating up fast. Everyone wants to be the backbone. But this partnership feels spot on for a market like Oman, where digital transformation is accelerating under Vision 2040 and businesses are looking for scalable, secure tools rather than patchwork solutions.
For startups across the region, especially those reading Arageek and thinking about cross-border growth, payment orchestration might sound technical, even dull. Well… it isn’t. It can be the difference between smooth scaling and constant headaches. If this collaboration delivers as promised, it could make operating in Oman definately less complicated for ambitious founders looking to expand without losing control of their payment stack.
