Tally Solutions has rolled out its new TallyPrime 7.0 in the UAE, a move that seems to land spot on with the country’s wider push for digital transformation. With SMEs making up more than 94 percent of all businesses in the UAE, the update arrives at a time when many small firms are still trying to balance modernisation with day‑to‑day survival. I’ve seen this struggle up close while chatting with entrepreneurs around Arageek’s community events—getting the right digital tools can feel like a bit of a faff, honestly.

One of the biggest upgrades is the strengthened TallyDrive setup. It blends automated cloud and local backups, wraps them with stronger encryption, and runs integrity checks to keep data safe without locking users out of their own information. That said, the company is still stressing that users remain fully in control of their files, which will likely reassure business owners wary of giving too much away to the cloud.

Another key addition is support for the UAE’s new national currency symbol. It now appears consistently on invoices, statements, and reports, in both English and Arabic interfaces, following the Central Bank’s guidelines. It’s a small detail, but I reckon these touches matter when you’re trying to look professional and stay compliant at the same time.

TallyPrime 7.0 also brings a Smart Find tool that lets people look up entries across different companies even if they only remember part of the details—something I personally wish more platforms offered, because searching manually is… well, you know, a headache. On the flip side, connected VAT return uploads aim to cut down the back‑and‑forth and make compliance smoother for teams already stretched thin. The software continues to offer UAE‑specific features like VAT and corporate tax readiness and bilingual workflows, which many businesses have come to rely on.

Tally has been around the UAE market for years, supported by a regional partner network that helps firms get up and running without too much hassle. And believe it or not, some SMEs I’ve met are still using outdated systems they installed more than a decade ago—so an upgrade like this could be a real nudge in the right direction, even if adoption isn’t always straighforward.

With the government doubling down on Vision 2030, D33, and the overall digital economy strategy, TallyPrime 7.0 arrives at an interesting moment for the sector. Whether SMEs take full advantage is another question, but the tools are definately on the table now.
