Replit Expands into Business Analytics with Atta Acquisition for AI-Driven Insights

Replit has bought Atta, adding AI business analysis and visualisation to its platform.
Users can ask plain-language questions in Replit chat and get interactive charts back.
The aim is less jumping between tools and fewer delays over growth or churn.
Atta’s tools help teams explore KPI shifts, pricing and retention without writing SQL.
The big test is handling messy data and producing outputs teams actually trust.
Replit is pushing further beyond coding and into the business side of the workflow, with its acquisition of Atta, an AI-powered business analysis workspace. The deal, announced on 25 September, brings Atta’s data analysis and visualisation tools into Replit’s platform, while Atta co-founders Omar Shaik and Amine Ben Khalifa are also joining the company.
In simple terms, Replit wants users to do more in one place. Instead of jumping between spreadsheets, analytics dashboards, and presentation tools — which, honestly, can be a bit of a faff — users can now upload a dataset or connect a data source inside Replit chat, ask questions in plain language, and get interactive charts back in the same conversation. The early version is already live through Replit Agent.
That first integration handles the analytical steps in the background and can choose chart formats to match the question. Replit pointed to examples such as waterfall charts for revenue changes and heatmaps for retention patterns. The idea is to let teams explore company data without needing to write SQL, the query language usually used to pull information from databases.
For operators and startup teams across MENA, this could be spot on if it works reliably at scale. I’ve seen founders spend days trying to line up analysts, product people and finance teams just to answer one basic question about growth or churn. At Arageek, readers know that kind of friction is often what slows young companies down, not the lack of ambition. So a tool that puts more analysis directly into the hands of business teams may land at the right moment.
Atta itself was built around that exact problem. Its platform combined AI with an interactive workspace where teams could look into KPI shifts, test revenue scenarios, and examine pricing or retention without depending fully on specialist data workflows. Replit is now folding that capability into its broader product, which has so far been better known as a platform for building apps and internal tools.
And believe it or not, the bigger ambition here is not only chart-making. Replit’s longer-term vision is for analysis to become part of a repeating workflow: a business question leads to insight, that insight feeds a leadership presentation, and later it may even shape a new internal tool built on the same platform. Not all of that is available today, to be clear, but that is the direction the company is sketching out.
That said, this is where things get interesting. A lot of AI products claim they can do everything under one roof, and I’m not a fan of big promises before the basics are rock solid. The real test will be whether Replit can handle messy, real-world business datasets and produce outputs that teams actually trust. Nice charts are one thing; decisions are another.
Still, the move says something broader about where workplace AI is heading. Rather than keeping AI boxed into code generation or simple question-answering, companies are trying to tie together analysis, visualisation and action in one environment. If Replit pulls that off, it could reduce the handoffs between the person asking a business question, the analyst digging through data and the team expected to do something with the answer.
For now, the immediate change is clear enough: interactive charting and natural-language business analysis are coming into Replit chat. The next phase will show whether Atta’s technology becomes deeply woven into the platform or remains a handy add-on. Either way, it is definately a sign that the line between building software and understanding the business behind it is getting thinner.
