Presight and Khazna Data Centres will implement an AI-optimised management system across 30 sites.

The system, centrally managed from Abu Dhabi, enhances efficiency by monitoring power, cooling, and security.

This initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi’s aspirations as a global innovation hub.

Khazna aims to set new sustainability benchmarks with real-time adaptive systems.

The project integrates into G42’s global “Intelligence Grid,” linking AI operations worldwide.

Presight has just inked a deal with Khazna Data Centres that could give the UAE’s digital backbone a serious brain boost. The two companies have signed an MOU to roll out an AI-optimised facility management system across Khazna’s entire network of data centres — that’s 30 sites spread across the country. The new system will be run from a central command hub in Abu Dhabi, using artificial intelligence to monitor everything from power use and cooling to equipment health and security, predicting snags before they become real headaches.

I reckon this marks a big leap for the UAE’s data infrastructure. We’ve all heard “AI-powered” tossed around lately, but in this case it’s not just hype. The idea is to make operations more efficient and sustainable — less wasted energy, fewer outages, and a tighter control over mission-critical systems. Thomas Pramotedham, Presight’s CEO, said the initiative will bring “Applied Intelligence” right to the front lines of digital infrastructure, pointing to Abu Dhabi’s growing weight as a global innovation hub.

Over at Khazna, CEO Hassan Alnaqbi shared a similar vision, noting that the company is redefining digital infrastructure management by embedding adaptive systems that can “anticipate and optimise in real time.” That might sound like textbook PR, but truth be told, the approach could set a new benchmark for sustainable data centre operations if it pans out as promised.

What caught my eye is how this new command centre ties into G42’s broader “Intelligence Grid” — a kind of AI nervous system that already stretches beyond the UAE into hubs from Europe to Asia. So, in effect, what’s happening here isn’t just local tinkering; it’s part of a global play to link up advanced AI operations across continents.

For anyone in the startup or tech ecosystem, it’s an intriguing move. It shows how homegrown AI players like Presight are not just building flashy algorithms but actually embedding intelligence into core industrial systems. That said, maintaining thirty hyperscale centres through one command point sounds like a bit of a faff at first. Still, this kind of centralised oversight could be spot on for a market hungry for efficiency.

At Arageek, we often hear founders talking about scale, and this collaboration feels like that concept on steroids — scale with smarts. And believe it or not, it’s projects like these that quietly shape the digital economies our region depends on. I’m definately curious to see how far this partnership takes the UAE’s ambitions to lead in AI-driven infrastructure.
