Aya seeks to unify the fragmented modest fashion market with a trend-driven discovery platform.

Co-founder and CEO Munira Al Kadi calls the investment a "validation of Aya’s bold vision" to transform the industry.

A Saudi startup is setting out to redefine modest fashion with a new approach that blends technology with style. Aya, an emerging e-commerce platform, has secured a $1.6 million seed funding round led by Khwarizmi Ventures, with additional backing from Raed Ventures, Joa Capital, and FENA Holdings.

Founded by Munira Al Kadi and Abdulrahman Al Ammar, Aya aims to bridge the gaps in the modest fashion market by bringing designers, manufacturers, and consumers onto a single, unified platform. The company is particularly focused on the abaya market, a multi-billion-dollar industry that has remained largely fragmented despite its size and cultural significance.

Speaking about the investment, Homam Meaddawi, a partner at Khwarizmi Ventures, highlighted Aya’s potential to disrupt the industry. “We are proud to support talented founders who have extensive experience in e-commerce. Aya is taking on a massive, yet highly disorganized, market, and we believe their approach will drive real change,” he stated.

Aya’s strategy involves leveraging data analytics to predict fashion trends and assist local manufacturers in producing on-demand designs, aligning with the fast-paced nature of the industry. By streamlining the supply chain and offering customers a seamless shopping experience, the platform aims to become the go-to destination for modest fashion.

Our goal is to make Aya the leading discovery platform in the region, and we’re looking for bold, entrepreneurial minds to join us on this journey.”

With fresh funding in hand, Aya plans to accelerate product development, enhance its customer experience, and expand its market reach. As demand for modest fashion continues to rise globally, the startup is positioning itself to lead the industry into a new era of innovation and accessibility.
