ADVEC partners with Green Energy Solutions to enhance Tarboul Industrial City's energy infrastructure.

ADVEC will oversee a 500/220/66/22 kV electric substation connecting Tarboul to Egypt's grid.

A 20 MW solar power plant is planned to reduce emissions and support clean energy.

Both projects aim to highlight Tarboul's commitment to sustainable, efficient technologies.

The collaboration exemplifies a move towards integrated, global-standard energy solutions.

Advanced Engineering Consultancy (ADVEC) has signed two new agreements with Green Energy Solutions to push forward a major shift in Tarboul Industrial City’s energy infrastructure. Tarboul has been making headlines for years as one of the world’s largest industrial cities in terms of scale and ambition, and these deals add another layer to its growing momentum. At Arageek, we’ve watched plenty of industrial zones try to reinvent themselves, and honestly, seeing a city of this size double down on clean energy feels spot on.

The first agreement places ADVEC in charge of engineering and supervising a hefty new electric substation, running across 500/220/66/22 kV. It’s the sort of project that quietly becomes the backbone of an entire city. Once completed, it will plug Tarboul directly into Egypt’s national electricity grid and keep hundreds of factories powered as they expand. I’ve seen smaller industrial areas struggle with power reliability—it can be a bit of a faff when growth outpaces infrastructure—so this kind of long-term planning matters.

ADVEC will oversee everything from the basic designs and tender documents to technical evaluations and on‑site supervision, right up to commissioning tests. The company is expected to ensure the station meets international performance and safety benchmarks, which is no small task for a project of this complexity.

Alongside that comes the second agreement: a 20 MW solar power plant. This one caught my eye because it’s part of a broader shift across the region toward more sustainable industrial energy. The plant will help cut emissions and support a cleaner operational model for Tarboul. According to the plans, ADVEC will again handle the core engineering work—preparing designs, reviewing specifications, managing tender evaluations, and supervising everything until the plant reaches commercial operation. And believe it or not, this is only one piece of Tarboul’s long-term renewable energy roadmap.

ADVEC’s founder, Eng. Ahmed Sallam, described the partnership as an important step and highlighted the confidence shown in the company’s ability to meet global standards. On the flip side, Green Energy Solutions’ CEO, Eng. Ashraf Gouda, pointed to ADVEC’s technical expertise as a key reason for teaming up, saying the collaboration supports Tarboul’s push towards an integrated, sustainable energy system.

I reckon these two projects could help set a new benchmark for industrial cities in the region, although—well… I mean—execution will be everything. A grand plan is nice, but turning it into reality is where things sometimes get a bit wobbly.

Still, the partnership signals a shared commitment to lower emissions, better efficiency, and up‑to‑date technologies. For a city that wants to stand out both regionally and globally, that’s not a bad direction at all. And as someone who’s spent years speaking with founders and operators across MENA, I’m chuffed to bits to see large‑scale industrial zones edging toward cleaner and more reliable energy systems, even if the journey is definately not always straightforward.
