AmiViz has partnered with Veracode to boost software security across the Middle East and Africa.

The platform embeds security from ā€œfirst line of codeā€ to cloud deployment.

AI-powered tools flag risks early, cutting costly fixes and reducing ā€œsecurity debtā€.

Executives call application security a board-level issue in AI-driven development.

The programme promises quick partner adoption with minimal disruption to operations.

AmiViz has teamed up with global application risk management firm Veracode in a move aimed at tightening software security across the Middle East, East Africa and Libya. The Dubai-headquartered cybersecurity and AI-focused value-added distributor will now bring Veracode’s platform to organisations looking to secure their applications in what is becoming an increasingly AI-driven development landscape.

If you’ve been around startups long enough, you’ll know that ā€œmove fast and break thingsā€ doesn’t quite work when it comes to security. I’ve seen founders chuffed to bits about launching a new feature, only to discover later that fixing vulnerabilities is a bit of a faff and far more expensive than doing it properly from day one. That’s where partnerships like this arguably hit the sweet spot.

Veracode, which has nearly two decades of data and experience in application risk management, offers tools designed to help development and security teams work side by side. Its platform focuses on embedding security directly into the software development lifecycle—from the first line of code to deployment in the cloud. Using AI-powered remediation, it flags exploitable risks and provides actionable guidance to fix them in real time, helping organisations reduce what’s often called ā€œsecurity debtā€ at scale.

AmiViz says it selected Veracode for its holistic approach to managing application risk. The company has been positioning itself as a cybersecurity specialist in the region, working closely with vendors, resellers and consultants to tailor solutions to local market needs.

Ilyas Mohammed, COO of AmiViz, said application security is now a board-level issue as more organisations adopt AI-driven development. He noted that the partnership with Veracode would allow partners and customers to integrate security into their development workflows, helping them innovate faster while lowering risk.

From Veracode’s side, Michael Steinmetz, Senior Vice President of EMEA & APAC, said the collaboration would support security leaders across the Middle East and Africa in finding, fixing and governing application risk at scale. He added that the combined effort aims to deliver deeper technical expertise and a stronger overall customer experience.

The partner programme is designed to get regional partners up and running quickly, with minimal disruption to their existing operations. And believe it or not, that practical detail often makes or breaks adoption in our region—no one wants an overhaul that derails ongoing projects.

For startups and scale-ups reading on Arageek, this kind of alliance is more than just another press announcement. Security is definately no longer a ā€œnice to haveā€. Investors ask about it. Enterprise clients demand it. Regulators scrutinise it. I reckon the regional ecosystem is maturing fast in this regard, even if some founders still see compliance as paperwork rather than strategy.

On the flip side, partnerships alone won’t solve everything. Execution matters. But with AI transforming how software is built—sometimes at breakneck speed—having embedded, automated security checks feels not just sensible, but essential.

In a region pushing hard on digital transformation agendas, from government platforms to fintech apps, strengthening application security at scale isn’t flashy. It won’t grab headlines like a unicorn valuation. Yet, quietly, it might be the thing that keeps the whole show on the road. And that, well… that’s spot on.
