Moro Hub has taken another stride towards powering Dubai’s smart economy by teaming up with Dell Technologies to strengthen its cloud infrastructure through artificial intelligence. The move, signed off in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), reflects the growing appetite across the Gulf for scalable, AI-ready solutions that help both public and private organisations operate with greater agility and confidence.
The signing took place in the presence of Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, who serves as Vice Chairman – Digital and Group CEO of Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority. The agreement was formalised by Mohammed Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub, alongside Walid Yehia, Managing Director for Dell Technologies in the South Gulf.
At the heart of the partnership lies a rather ambitious goal — to boost the performance and efficiency of Moro Hub’s cloud platform by integrating Dell’s end-to-end AI infrastructure and its high-performing PowerEdge Servers. I reckon that kind of deployment could be a game-changer for firms swimming in data and desperate to cut the faff out of their digital operations.
Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar described the collaboration as a big step in fortifying Moro Hub’s AI-driven infrastructure, emphasising that it aligns squarely with Dubai’s broader vision for a sustainable, digitally advanced economy. Meanwhile, Yehia from Dell noted how the partnership builds on a shared commitment to innovation and scalability in the UAE’s fast-evolving technology ecosystem. Spot on, really — the region is clearly leaning into AI not just as a buzzword, but as a key tool for competitiveness.
From a personal vantage point at Arageek, where we’ve spent years watching MENA startups navigate digital transformation, I can’t help but see this as another signal of how the UAE wants to set the pace for cloud and data maturity. It reminds me of chatting with a founder last year who called cloud migration “the easy bit” compared to developing a truly intelligent stack. That said, partnerships like this one show how far things have come — and how determined regional players are to close that innovation gap.
The collaboration will enable Moro Hub to deliver smarter, more responsive cloud services that blend performance with sustainability. And believe it or not, in a landscape where speed and security can make or break trust, that’s exactly what enterprises are asking for. It’s all part of the UAE’s bigger push to weave AI into daily business functions — not just flashy projects, but the nuts and bolts of how work gets done.
All told, the MoU feels less like a formality and more like a launchpad for a deeper technological shift across sectors. The partnership may not make headlines in every corner of the world, but for those of us following the region’s tech scene closely… it’s a welcome sign of ambition, even if the details will take time to fully materialise. And yes, I’m definately curious to see how quickly these AI infrastructures will take root in Dubai’s sprawling digital landscape.
