Tie-up supports "Qatar National Vision 2030" and economic diversification.

Founders gain platform access, logistics, mentorship and marketing exposure.

Focus includes home-based businesses, social security beneficiaries and people with disabilities.

Success depends on execution, turning "access" into measurable growth.

Snoonu, one of Qatar’s best-known homegrown tech platforms, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Namaa Social Incubator to give entrepreneurs in the country a stronger leg-up. The agreement, announced in Doha, brings together Namaa, which operates under the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, and a private sector player that has built a sizeable digital and logistics footprint across the country.

At first glance, it may sound like just another MoU. But in a market like Qatar, where the push for economic diversification is no longer optional but essential, these tie-ups can be spot on when done properly. The partnership is aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030, which focuses heavily on building a knowledge-based economy and reducing reliance on hydrocarbons.

Under the arrangement, entrepreneurs enrolled in Namaa’s incubation programmes will gain access to Snoonu’s digital platform and wider ecosystem. In practical terms, that means the chance to scale operations, reach more customers, and streamline logistics using Snoonu’s existing infrastructure. And believe it or not, access to distribution and visibility is often the biggest hurdle for early-stage founders — sometimes even more than funding.

The initiative also promises mentorship, technical support, workshops, and marketing exposure. That combination matters. I’ve seen founders across the MENA region who had a solid idea but struggled with the “how”, how to price, how to deliver, how to market without burning cash. When platforms step in with real operational backing, it can be a game-changer… well, if executed properly.

Importantly, the collaboration is not only targeting high-growth tech startups. There is a deliberate focus on inclusion, particularly home-based businesses, social security beneficiaries, and people with disabilities. That breadth gives the initiative more depth than a typical startup announcement. It’s not just about chasing unicorns; it’s about widening participation in the economy.

Ghanim Salah Al Ali, Executive Director of Namaa, said the partnership reflects a belief in the power of strategic alliances to amplify both social and economic impact, adding that it marks a meaningful step towards creating an environment that supports sustainable growth in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

From Snoonu’s side, founder and CEO Hamad Mubarak Al-Hajri described innovation as a core driver of inclusive growth. He noted that the company aims, through this partnership, to equip entrepreneurs with the tools and opportunities needed to scale their ideas and create lasting value within the community.

Snoonu’s role here is not minor. Over the years, it has built up advanced logistics capabilities and a strong customer base, assets that small businesses would otherwise find difficut and costly to replicate on their own. Plugging into that network could help participating entrepreneurs shorten their growth curve and compete more confidently in a fast-changing market.

Both organisations framed the agreement as a model for public-private cooperation, something that policymakers across the region have been encouraging for years. On the flip side, partnerships always look good on paper; the real test will be in execution and measurable outcomes.

Still, I reckon this is the kind of practical collaboration that can quietly move the needle. At Arageek, we often speak about energising founders across MENA, and stories like this remind us that empowerment is not just about inspirational talk. It’s about access, to platforms, to customers, to know-how. And sometimes, that access makes all the difference.
