It looks like there's another exciting development in the UAE's bustling artificial intelligence scene. Emirati startup AqlanX, which specialises in AI-driven business automation, has secured itself $10 million in fresh funding from Australian tech outfit Lakeba, through their DoxAI project.

This fresh cash injection comes with a helpful nudge from the NextGen Foreign Direct Investment initiative, known for fostering valuable networking opportunities. According to the announcement, the deal aims to strengthen AqlanX's plans to expand and localise cutting-edge tech provided by DoxAI, further pushing business automation solutions across the Middle East.

Founded specifically to craft Arabic-language artificial intelligence tools, AqlanX is on a mission to simplify corporate processes, boost operational efficiency, and streamline those mountains of corporate paperwork we're all too familair with. And who wouldn't want less paperwork?

There's more to it than just tech development, though. AqlanX, Lakeba, and DoxAI have also teamed up strategically with the University of Wollongong in Dubai to create an AI Centre of Excellence. The idea here is to nurture local talent and champion research and innovation in artificial intelligence, aligning neatly with the UAE's national strategy for capacity-building.

Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Trade, highlighted the partnership as proof positive that initiatives like NextGen FDI are successfully encouraging cross-sector collaboration. "It's a clear signal of our commitment in supporting innovation and strategic partnerships, particularly in priority areas such as artificial intelligence," he remarked.

AqlanX's founder and CEO, Demetrio Russo, is understandably upbeat about what lies ahead. He stated confidently that alongside Lakeba and DoxAI, AqlanX is now well positioned to deliver "Arabic artificial intelligence developed right here in the UAE." Russo went on to explain, "We're building an innovation hub that reflects the ambitions here in the region and empowers local businesses to lead on a global stage."

It definitely looks like interesting times ahead, folks, so you might want to keep an eye on AqlanX. Who knows—next time you pop onto Arageek or glance through your favourite news site, you might just see their name cropping up again with even more impressive updates.
