RiseUp Summit returns to Cairo from 5ā7 February 2026, set beside the striking Grand Egyptian Museum.
Launched in 2013, it has grown into a global meeting point beyond regional borders.
Organisers expect over 100,000 attendees from 50+ countries and 120 cities.
The agenda blends AI, business, creativity and capital, plus mentoring and satellite events.
Hosting at the GEM signals Cairoās ambitions as a serious global entrepreneurship hub.
Cairo is gearing up to welcome a familiar crowd of builders, backers and big thinkers as RiseUp Summit makes its return from 5 to 7 February 2026, this time set against the rather jawādropping backdrop of the Grand Egyptian Museum. If youāve ever tried to pitch an idea with the pyramids somewhere in the horizon, youāll know the setting alone can spark ambition⦠well, it always does for me.
From our side, AraGeek will be on the ground as an official media partner for RiseUp Summit 2026, covering the event not just through headlines but through real conversations, interviews, and stories that capture whatās actually happening inside the ecosystem. The focus, as always, is on founders, builders, and decision-makersādocumenting the ideas being tested, the partnerships taking shape, and the signals that matter for the regionās tech and startup landscape.
Launched back in 2013, RiseUp started as a regional push to connect startups with the right people and tools. Over the years, itās grown steadily into a global meeting point, pulling together founders, investors, corporates, creatives and policymakers in one place. That evolution feels spot on, especially now when ecosystems donāt really stop at borders anymore.
Organisers say the 2026 edition will be the biggest so far, with attendees expected from more than 50 countries and 120 cities. The numbers are eyeāwatering: over 100,000 participants, around 2,000 startups, a similar number of investors, and more than 300 speakers from across the world. It sounds intense, yes, but also like the kind of organised chaos where real connections actually happen.
The agenda leans into the overlap between technology, business, creativity and capital. Across multiple stages and exhibition spaces, conversations will range from AI and emerging tech to funding strategies and new business models. And believe it or not, some of the most useful moments often happen outside the main halls. Iāve seen founders walk in chasing investment and walk out with a coāfounder instead, which is not half bad.
Thereās also a strong practical side to the summit. Alongside panels and talks, the programme includes startup showcases, talent matchmaking, creative markets, mentorship corners and a series of satellite events scattered around the city. For earlyāstage teams, especially in MENA, that blend of exposure and handsāon support can be a game changer, even if navigating it all can be a bit of a faff.
From an Arageek readerās point of view, itās hard to ignore what events like this signal. Cairo is increasingly positioning itself as a serious player in global entrepreneurship, not just a regional hub. I reckon hosting the summit at the GEM is more than a venue choice; itās a statement about confidence and scale. Whether every bold idea translates into impact is another question, but the intent is definately there, and that counts for something.
