BENEFIT launched a business account feature on the BenefitPay app for local merchants.

Merchants can use the app to manage payments via Fawri+ with just a mobile number.

The app allows real-time transaction tracking and costs nothing extra for users.

This update aims to simplify financial operations for small businesses in Bahrain.

BENEFIT is committed to improving digital payment solutions in Bahrain's economy.

BENEFIT, one of Bahrain’s key players in the fintech space, has rolled out a business account feature on the well-known BenefitPay app. This move follows encouragement from the Central Bank of Bahrain, aiming to make life a good bit easier for local merchants—especially those with single-owner commercial licences. Anyone who’s dealt with the faff of complex account management knows what a relief this kind of update can bring.

Basically, merchants can now set up and run business accounts right on the BenefitPay app, allowing them to accept payments through Fawri+ and Fawri services using nothing more than a mobile number. That means no need to share or even think about bank account numbers or IBANs every time you want to move some money. Business owners can also pay out via Fawri+ and Fawri from their business accounts, which might sound a little thing, but trust me, it can save a serious amount of hassle. For entrepreneurs juggling a hundred things a day, small simplifications like this really matter. And believe it or not, all these features come at no extra cost to the businesses using BenefitPay.

It isn’t just the accepting and sending of payments, either. The app lets merchants and startup owners track and monitor transactions in real time, and even link up employee mobiles so that notifications ping instantly when something goes through. It’s a proper step up from the days when you’d be glued to your banking dashboard, refreshing until your eyes ache. At Arageek, supporting practical improvements like this—especially when they’re directed at SMEs and fresh startups—is something we’re chuffed to bits about. The fact that this empowers Bahrain’s small businesses, helping them keep the books straight and focus on what matters, is spot on in my book.

Yousif AlNefaiei, who’s Deputy Chief Executive of Business Development & Services at BENEFIT, was quoted as saying the company is committed to “empowering merchants with innovative digital solutions that enhance trust and convenience in payments.” He added that this new feature enables businesses to separate and manage their financial operations more efficiently, while customers benefit from a seamless payment journey. I reckon he’s right about the step forward for Bahrain’s digital economy—even if, personally, I still wish some of these interfaces were a bit less clunky. Well… can’t win ‘em all!

BENEFIT seems keen to keep raising the bar, working closely with industry players and the wider community to expand their payments ecosystem. On the flip side, as more features stack up, there’s always the risk of things getting a bit overwhelming for those just trying to run a stall or launch their first startup. So let’s just hope these tools stay as simple as promised.

All in all, though, the changes are likely to make a real difference for business owners across the Kingdom—cutting red tape and making digital payments just that little bit less of a headache. And if that means more time for entrepreneurs to focus on building their dreams, who’s going to complain?
