Tunisian startup WildyNess secures pre-seed funding from Bridging Angels and African Diaspora Network.

Focusing on community-based travel, it promotes meaningful experiences over traditional tourism.

With $300,000 in sales, WildyNess thrives without heavy marketing.

Funds will drive expansion into Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE.

The B2B2C model empowers tourism micro-entrepreneurs through technology and local involvement.

There’s something quite refreshing about seeing a North African startup step off the beaten track—quite literally. The Tunisian traveltech outfit WildyNess has just wrapped up its first strategic pre-seed funding round, backed by Bridging Angels and the African Diaspora Network. The sum wasn’t disclosed, but the impact could be significant for a region whose investor attention has, until now, skewed heavily towards fintech.

Rather than chasing mass tourism numbers, WildyNess built its name around community-based travel experiences—getting travellers out of the big hotels and into real local encounters. The startup’s co-founder, Achraf Aouadi, put it nicely when he said the future of travel isn’t about quantity but meaning. I reckon he’s spot on there. People are genuinely tired of see-the-sights, take-the-photo holidays. They want something that sticks, something with a story.

Since its launch in 2022, WildyNess has managed over $300,000 in sales, all organically—no fancy ads, no burn-through-the-budget marketing blitz. That’s no small feat for a young company in the sustainable travel niche. As someone who’s watched countless startups in the region hustle for traction, I’ve seen how rare that kind of organic pull can be.

The new funds are earmarked for expanding into Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and the UAE, and for polishing up their tech platform. On the face of it, the founders, both engineers, seem to have nailed a B2B2C model that helps tourism micro-entrepreneurs thrive. It’s a neat blend of local community empowerment and digital reach—exactly the sort of innovation Arageek loves to cheer on.

An investor from Bridging Angels summed it up by saying WildyNess brings “discipline and constant care” to its customers, which, in today’s climate, is worth its weight in gold. The travel-tech space can be a bit of a faff at times—between logistics, regulations, and cultural nuances—but WildyNess seems to have found its groove. And believe it or not, for a region long defined by sun-and-sand package tours, that’s a breath of very welcome fresh air… even if I’m definately craving a trip myself now.
