In a move that’s bound to get plenty of creators talking, BRIDGE has joined hands with Meta ahead of the first-ever BRIDGE Summit — set to take place in Abu Dhabi from 8 to 10 December 2025. The summit is already being billed as the world’s largest debut event for media, content, and entertainment, and now it’s got one of the biggest names in tech on board.
The partnership was announced during a visit by His Excellency Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Butti Al Hamed, Chairman of BRIDGE, and H.E. Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi, Vice Chairperson, to Meta’s regional HQ in Dubai. The idea behind the collaboration? To bring fresh digital experiences, interactive learning, and next-generation storytelling tools to a community of more than 60,000 expected participants. Quite the crowd, eh?
Meta isn’t just slapping its logo on the event. The company will be right in the thick of it — hosting workshops, thought-leadership panels, and hands-on activations across multiple platforms. With technologies like augmented and virtual reality, behavioural insights, and creative production tools, Meta aims to help attendees experiment with how people connect, collaborate, and co-create in digital environments. I reckon that could be a game changer for emerging creators, especially those trying to bridge the gap between traditional content and interactive media.
For BRIDGE, this partnership fits neatly into its bigger vision of building a global ecosystem around the “content economy.” The initiative wants to link talent with opportunity, platforms with producers, and ideas with real-world markets. From what I’ve seen covering MENA startups for Arageek, that goal aligns smartly with what many young founders here are after — access, exposure, and the chance to scale without feeling boxed in.
His Excellency Abdulla Al Hamed called the creative economy a “fundamental pillar” of the UAE’s broader growth strategy, noting that national leadership has long pushed for innovation through flexible legislation and attractive incentives for creatives. It’s not just lip service — over the years, I’ve seen more creative hubs, funding schemes, and incubators pop up in the Emirates than ever before. That said, execution is always the tricky bit, and making sure small creators benefit as much as big names is, frankly, a bit of a faff.
Speaking on Meta’s side, Moon Baz — Director of Global Partnerships for Africa, the Middle East, and Türkiye — highlighted how the collaboration aligns with Meta’s mission to “build the future of human connection.” Spot on, really, because social platforms thrive only when creators and communities evolve together.
The BRIDGE delegation in Dubai included Abdullah Al Hamed, Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi, and Maryam Bin Fahad, while Meta’s team featured regional policy leads and creative partnership managers. From the look of things, the two sides are set on turning the Summit into something far more lasting than a few flashy panels. The ambition is for conversations and connections made there to ripple out across industries well into the future.
And here’s the kicker: registration for the event is already open through worldmediabridge.com. So if you’re a founder, creator, or someone who just loves the buzz of where media meets innovation — it might be worth your time. I’m not a fan of hype for hype’s sake, but this one does look set to pack a punch.
