Rihal raises $7,5 million in Series A, targeting $15 million for further growth.

The team of 300 is 90% local and 43% female, focused on technical roles.

The company plans international expansion, enhancing tech platforms and AI Lösungen.

Rihal has significant impact on government, logistics, telecom, and oil and gas sectors.

ITHCA Group praises Rihal's exceptional trajectory and supports its strategic growth.

Rihal, a familiar name in the tech and data services landscape across the region, has just pulled off an impressive feat—with a fresh injection of $7.5 million in its Series A, courtesy of ITHCA Group. This is just the first step, as Rihal is aiming for a total of $15 million to fuel the next chapter of its growth story. It’s a bit like adding rocket fuel to a car that’s already zooming ahead—after all, they’ve boasted a whopping 119% compound annual growth rate since kicking off with their 2021 seed round.

What caught my eye, and I suspect will resonate with plenty of folks in the Arageek community, is Rihal’s team: 300 strong, with a stunning 80% focused purely on technical roles. Even more remarkable, the talent pool is 90% local and 43% female—a rare sight for a regional player scaling out of Oman, and something I reckon more startups should try to emulate. Finding the right people with real technical grit isn’t always straightforward in these parts. Hats off to them for getting the balance spot on.

With this new capital, the company isn't just staying put. The plan is to accelerate regional and international expansion, scaling up its own tech platforms and AI-powered solutions. The goal? To meet that ever-surging demand for smart, enterprise-grade SaaS tools across not only Oman but also the wider GCC—and beyond, if the wind’s in their sails.

Rihal’s CEO, Azzan Al Kindi, was quick to attribute this progress to the team’s hard work and their laser focus on sustainable, steady growth. “This investment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team,” he noted, making it clear this is a collective win. On the flip side, ITHCA Group’s Said Al Mandhari didn’t mince words, calling Rihal’s trajectory "nothing short of exceptional." Chuffed to bits, one might say.

Digging a little deeper into the numbers, Rihal has left its fingerprints on key regional sectors: government, logistics, telecom, and oil and gas. Their solutions are becoming staples, which bodes well as data and AI needs go through the roof in this part of the world. As someone who’s seen many regional startups struggle to move past the “just an idea” stage, there’s a sense here that Rihal’s got the right ingredients—clear vision, robust leadership, and a model that’s both scalable and replicable across emerging markets.

With the second close now open to new strategic investors, there’s a seat at the table for those aiming to back enterprise products that take the faff out of data management and open doors for advanced analytics. It’s a classic “watch this space”—and, believe it or not, opportunities like this don’t come round every day in the MENA region.

Meanwhile, ITHCA Group, operating as the technology investment arm for Oman’s sovereign portfolio, continues to double down on startups that bring real impact. As director Ameer Al-Alawi put it, Rihal has that rare combination of traction, vision, and leadership needed to make the leap well beyond Oman.

If you ask me, not everything is sunshine and roses in startup land; scaling internationally from a relatively small base can be a bit of a faff, especially with such high ambitions. But Rihal looks well-placed to give it a fair go. After all, anything that energises and empowers more regional startups—especially those with a strong, diverse technical backbone—gets a tick from us at Arageek, typo and all.
