Cloud Box unveils a three-pillar AI strategy and appoints a Chief AI Officer.

AI will be “baked into” cybersecurity, cloud, analytics and automation services.

An Algo-as-a-Service model promises scalable, reusable AI with faster delivery.

A new Centre of Excellence will oversee governance, talent and “responsible AI” adoption.

The shift supports UAE AI 2031 ambitions and broader digital transformation goals.

Cloud Box Technologies is sharpening its artificial intelligence focus, and this time it’s not just talk. The Dubai-headquartered systems integrator has introduced a three-pillar AI strategy and appointed Laxmi Nageswari as its new Chief AI Officer, signalling a clear shift from traditional IT infrastructure work to becoming a broader digital transformation partner.

For anyone who has followed the region’s tech evolution, this move feels very much in step with where the UAE is headed. I’ve seen, over the years, how companies that once focused purely on hardware and networking are now racing to weave AI into everything they do. It’s no longer a shiny add-on. It’s the backbone. And Cloud Box seems keen to make that point loud and clear.

The newly created Chief AI Officer role places AI at the core of the company’s operations. Nageswari will lead overall AI strategy, partnerships and capability building, with a mandate to ensure artificial intelligence becomes an integrated layer across all services rather than a standalone product offered on the side.

At the heart of the strategy sit three pillars. First, AI is being embedded directly into cybersecurity, data analytics, automation and cloud-based intelligence services. In other words, the company wants AI baked into every major offering. Second comes its Algo-as-a-Service (AaaS) model. This is designed to deliver scalable, reusable AI models that can be deployed more quickly and consistently for clients, cutting time-to-market and, ideally, avoiding the usual reinvention of the wheel. Supporting both is a dedicated Centre of Excellence, which will focus on governance, innovation, research support and talent development, while promoting responsible AI adoption.

Together, the framework aims to transform AI from isolated initiatives into a company-wide capability. The intention is to improve scalability, accelerate delivery cycles and strengthen long-term competitiveness. It’s pitched as an integrated ecosystem linking hardware, applications and skilled talent into one cohesive AI platform. Ambitious? Yes. But also spot on for a market that is moving at breakneck speed.

Ranjith Kaippada, Managing Director of Cloud Box Technologies, said the three-pillar framework and Nageswari’s appointment reinforce the company’s ability to deliver scalable AI-driven solutions. He added that the approach aligns with the UAE’s National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and marks an important step in Cloud Box’s transformation into a comprehensive digital partner capable of harnessing AI effectively.

Nageswari, in her comments, underlined that the company’s approach centres on guiding clients end-to-end, from strategy formulation to execution—while balancing advanced technologies with operational realities on the ground. She said the mission is to bridge business and technology, turning emerging tools into production-ready AI solutions that deliver measurable results. She also expressed enthusiasm about contributing to both the company’s growth and the UAE’s broader AI ambitions.

In practical terms, her responsibilities will include aligning AI investments with business priorities, scaling solutions via the AaaS model and driving governance and innovation through the Centre of Excellence. Cross-team collaboration will be high on the agenda, with a focus on identifying high-impact AI use cases and continuously refining the roadmap. In the short term, operationalising the three pillars and tightening integration between them will be the priority, well… easier said than done, but that’s where leadership matters most.

Nageswari brings experience from previous roles, including work at Boston Limited, where she was involved in large-scale transformation initiatives. Her background spans multiple regions and industries, combining strategy, ecosystem collaboration and technology implementation. That mix could prove vital, especially in a market where AI discussions can sometimes feel big on vision and light on delivery.

Cloud Box also highlights its wider footprint: headquartered in Dubai, with Network Operation Centres in both Dubai and India, and capabilities spanning IT infrastructure consultancy, cloud, network security systems integration, and professional services. The company has invested in managed services and was recently certified as a Great Place to Work in the Middle East. These details matter, because AI strategies without operational backbone can quickly become a bit of a faff.

On the flip side, execution will be everything. Announcing frameworks is the easy part; embedding AI into cybersecurity and cloud services at scale is a different beast entirely. I reckon the success of this strategy will depend not just on technology, but on how effectively the Centre of Excellence can build internal talent and enforce governance standards. That’s often the quiet make-or-break factor.

Still, for the UAE market, already pushing hard towards AI leadership under its 2031 vision—this step cements Cloud Box Technologies’ intention to stay ahead of the curve. For startups and scale-ups watching from the sidelines, especially those in the Arageek community, it’s another reminder that AI is definately no longer optional. It’s becoming the cost of entry. And believe it or not, the companies that systemise it early may well be the ones laughing all the way to the next funding round.
