HUMAIN Partners with center3 to Supercharge Saudi Arabia’s AI Ambitions

Saudi Arabia is clearly setting its sights high when it comes to artificial intelligence. HUMAIN – the PIF-owned AI company – has teamed up with center3, a digital infrastructure provider under the stc Group, in what looks like a decisive step towards cementing the Kingdom’s position as a global AI hub. The two have inked a framework agreement that basically lets HUMAIN plug straight into center3’s advanced network systems, boosting connections both across the country and with the rest of the world.

Tareq Amin, HUMAIN’s chief executive, described connectivity as “fundamental to any world-class AI ecosystem,” which sounds spot on if you ask me. Without reliable infrastructure, even the brightest algorithms would hit a dead end fast. With this deal, HUMAIN gets access to the secure and high-capacity systems it needs to scale AI projects in everything from healthcare and energy to logistics.

On the other side of the table, center3’s boss Fahad AlHajeri seemed equally upbeat. His point was that digital highways are the backbone of innovation – and given the size of Saudi’s tech ambitions, that’s no exaggeration. He reckons the partnership will help create a performance-focused computing environment powerful enough to link industries and communities right across the region. Sounds like more than a paper exercise to me.

From what I’ve seen covering MENA startups here at Arageek, these sorts of partnerships are becoming the lifeblood of the local tech scene. It reminds me a bit of how smaller founders lean on accelerators: you can have all the drive in the world, but unless you’ve got the right connections—technical and literal—it’s a bit of a faff to scale globally.

The move also plays neatly into Saudi Arabia’s broader push to diversify its economy. By investing in digital infrastructure and AI-ready data systems, the country isn’t just betting on tech trends; it’s laying down the tracks for a long-term transformation. And believe it or not, this isn’t just about machines learning smarter—it’s about people working smarter too.

All told, this HUMAIN-center3 link-up feels like another puzzle piece falling into place in the Kingdom’s AI masterplan. I reckon we’ll be seeing plenty more of these collaborations as Gulf economies race to out-innovate one another. It’s an exciting time… though building an AI ecosystem from scratch? That’s no walk in the park, definately.
