Islamweb has partnered with Google Cloud to enhance its digital services in the MENA region.

The website's operations moved to Google Cloud using Apigee API Management to simplify processes.

Done by ABC, the migration improves site reliability, security, and growth potential.

Google Cloud aims to expand its digital infrastructure, reflecting rising demand for AI solutions.

Islamweb's transformation is critical for its ongoing role as a source of Islamic knowledge.

Islamweb, the popular Islamic knowledge site visited by more than 600,000 users a day, has teamed up with Google Cloud to enhance its digital offering throughout the MENA region. This latest development was unveiled during the Google Cloud Summit held on 29 May 2025, at Doha's Qatar National Convention Center.

As part of its digital refresh, Islamweb moved its website operations onto Google Cloud's infrastructure, uniquely implementing Apigee API Management—a system designed to simplify API creation without needing specialist knowledge. The migration, carried out expertly by Qatar-based company Advanced Business Computing (ABC), means the site is now smoother, more reliable and better protected against cyber threats, all while offering greater scope for growth and collaboration among developers.

Speaking about the changes, Bassem Shatila, General Manager of ABC, commented that Islamweb is now perfectly placed to respond swiftly to emerging digital demands. He noted that these improvements would boost both content delivery and developer efficiency, adding that ABC takes great pride in playing a role in Islamweb’s ongoing journey.

Considering Google Cloud's impressive global footprint across 42 regions, initiatives like these indicate its keeness to bolster digital infrastructure worldwide, especially on the back of rising demand for digitisation and artificial intelligence solutions.

For those less familiar, Islamweb's impressive visitor count underlines its significance as a steady source of Islamic knowledge and wisdom, making this new digital step an important investment in its long-term online presence.

It's heartening to see popular regional platforms taking proactive steps to keep pace with changing tech landscapes. Just last week, Arageek readers pointed out how essential it’s becoming for sites across MENA to adopt more advanced cloud-based solutions—or risk fading into obscurity. After all, as we say in Britain, "time and tide wait for no one."

Certainly, from here on, Islamweb seems ready and set to keep up with a digital wave that's reshaping online experiences throughout our connected world.
