When you’re knee-deep in the world of startups around the MENA region, like we are at Arageek, you realise pretty quickly that the whole business of payments can be a real minefield. Each country has its own favourite payment systems, and frankly, dealing with all those fragmented infrastructures can be a bit of a faff. That’s why a new partnership between MoneyHash and noon Payments has caught my eye.

MoneyHash, known for orchestrating payment solutions across the Middle East and Africa, has teamed up with noon Payments, the digital payments arm from noon, to make it much simpler for regional businesses to tap into local payment methods. The idea? Businesses already hooked into MoneyHash can now flick a switch and offer customers everything from Mada in Saudi, to KNET in Kuwait, Benefit in Bahrain, Meeza in Egypt, and Omannet in Oman—all through a single API. No more juggling a tangle of integrations or burning hours on backend headaches. It’s pretty spot on if you ask me.

This isn’t just about ticking boxes or showing off bells and whistles. For startups racing to expand in the region, speed and reliability at checkout can make or break the experience, and a frustrating payment dashboard can put you right off. MoneyHash’s CEO, Nader Abdelrazik, sums it up neatly: “MoneyHash’s orchestration technology bridges the gap between fragmented payment infrastructures and growing merchant needs. Partnering with noon Payments allows us to deliver even more value to businesses looking to scale across the region with a truly localised, efficient, and reliable payment stack.” Couldn’t have said it better meself.

Of course, what really stands out is the aim to boost go-to-market deployment, smooth out operations, and notch up those approval rates—key priorities especially for enterprise merchants and digital-centric businesses on the move in the Gulf and beyond. From what I can see, the deal means you won’t have to faff around with endless compliance checks and mountains of code just to add a new payment method. You’ll be able to offer shoppers their preferred ways to pay, wherever they are, without turning your development roadmap upside down.

On the flip side, I reckon there’s still plenty of work ahead if we want to see a truly seamless regional payment ecosystem (no silver bullets here!), but this sort of collaboration is definately a step in the right direction. Mosam Gadia, SVP of noon Payments, puts it like this: “We’re enabling businesses to scale faster, smarter, and with greater access to advanced payment services and methods than ever before.”

What you get, essentially, is a toolkit unlocking future-ready payments across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, and Oman, without loading up on extra hassle. For anyone building a business in this region, and I speak from plenty of late nights swapping stories with fellow founders, solutions that cut down the friction don’t just save time—they help keep teams sane and customers happy.
