Such initiatives aim to simplify business setup, aligning with the region's desire for efficiency.
Sharjah’s push to become a smarter, more connected investment hub has taken another step forward as NXN joined hands with the Sharjah Investors Services Centre, better known as SAEED. The two sides have sealed a cooperation deal that will see them combine logistics and digital services aimed at giving investors a smoother ride when setting up or expanding their businesses in the emirate.
At the heart of the collaboration is the adoption of “Wayn”, the UAE’s Digital P.O. Box, which acts as a secure digital communication tool between investors and local authorities. Anyone who’s ever dealt with mountains of paperwork knows that cutting down on physical documents is a bit of a faff, so this digital touch should make things far more efficient. It’s also a signal that Sharjah wants its business scene to keep pace with a world increasingly built on data flows rather than file cabinets.
NXN will also be linking SAEED and its clients to several of its smart platforms, such as “Waslah”, which helps small and medium‑sized enterprises handle delivery and shipping, and “Smart Places”, a visibility tool that places businesses quite literally on the digital map. For investors dealing in both local and cross‑border goods, the Boxes Bundles service adds a flexible shipping option—handy, given how logistics can make or break an enterprise these days.
The agreement was unveiled at the Sharjah Investment Forum 2025—NXN actually served as the event’s logistics partner—convened in tandem with the World Investment Conference. That gathering brought together over 130 speakers and roughly 10,000 participants, from policymakers to global business leaders. It’s not every day that Sharjah hosts something of that scale; I reckon it shows how confident the emirate has become about marketing itself on the international stage.
According to Abdulaziz Alhammadi, NXN’s general manager, the partnership fits within the company’s long‑term ambition to knit together the UAE’s logistics infrastructure and support economic growth across all emirates. He spoke of creating a “smart business environment” aligned with national efforts to foster digital transformation. On the flip side, Hamad Obaid Al Shamsi, SAEED’s manager, framed the move as part of a broader attempt to give entrepreneurs a clear path to expansion through tech‑driven services.
Taken together, their messages echo a shared goal: turning Sharjah into a place where running a business feels less like a bureaucratic maze and more like a clear, digitally lit route. And believe it or not, that’s something we at Arageek often hear echoed across the MENA startup community—founders there are crying out for smoother processes, quicker responses, and, frankly, fewer hoops to jump through.
Ultimately, the NXN–SAEED tie‑up aligns well with the UAE’s “We the UAE 2031” vision, built around sustainability, knowledge, and modern technology. It may not grab global headlines, but at ground level, these kinds of partnerships are what truly move the needle for startups and investors alike. And if this deal means one less queue or rubber stamp for an entrepreneur in Sharjah, most will be chuffed to bits.
Well… I mean, digital transformation isn’t done overnight—it’s definately a work in progress—but this looks like another strong step in the right direction.
