Saudi Arabia has launched a new incubator programme called CodeAI aimed at boosting startups specialising in artificial intelligence technologies. The initiative comes courtesy of the country's Digital Entrepreneurship Centre (CODE), under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.
Around twenty fledgling AI companies have already joined this venture, with the goal of transforming promising ideas into viable tech solutions. Participants in the four-month programme will benefit from an extensive support network, which includes mentoring from industry professionals, strategic partnerships, advanced technology resources, and financial backing.
The new incubator hopes to bridge gaps in the local tech ecosystem and fuel further growth in the AI sector across Saudi Arabia. It provides a complete package, encompassing training and career development workshops, generous financial support from the National Technology Development Programme (NTDP), and access to specialist advice, not to mention comfortable shared working spaces for collaboration.
In total, the incubator plans to deliver more than thirty targeted training sessions hosted by an experienced team of around fifteen dedicated AI mentors. The entire initiative aligns neatly with Saudi Arabia's strategy of establishing itself as a regional innovation hub and positioning artificial intellegence as a central pillar of the kingdom's digital economy.
If you've spent some time browsing websites like Arageek, you're probably aware how AI startups are booming globally—so it's interesting to see such efforts gaining ground closer to home. The launch involves collaboration with prominent national players including the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), Saudi Company for AI (SKAI), tech innovator SambaNova, and startup specialist BIM Ventures. With such powerful backing, it's safe to say that Saudi Arabia is determined to lead the charge in AI innovation across the region.
