Trusity and ENOC collaborate to boost Emirati students' entrepreneurship in sustainability and energy efficiency.

Ten promising business ideas will enter Trusity's *TruPreneurs* programme for training and mentoring.

The initiative focuses on real-world skills, bridging young talent with ENOC's industry needs.

Dubai's youth programmes and platforms aim to connect, rather than fragment, entrepreneurial efforts.

Proper execution can help meet UAE's goals for nurturing globally competitive home-grown entrepreneurs.

Trusity, a UAE-based skill-tech platform and certified SME incubator, has teamed up with Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) to give young Emirati students a leg-up in entrepreneurship and innovation. The idea is pretty straightforward: spot bright ideas, nurture them, and eventually turn them into businesses that can make a dent in areas like sustainability and energy efficiency—right at the heart of the UAE’s 2030 Vision and Dubai’s economic agenda, D33.

What stands out about this partnership is that it’s not just another classroom exercise. Students from Arabic-speaking schools who put forward promising business ideas will be shortlisted—ten of them, to be precise—and handed the chance to go through Trusity’s *TruPreneurs* programme. That means structured training, mentoring, investor pitching, and even incubation under Trusity’s *TruNext*. For teenagers or early-stage entrepreneurs, that’s a pretty solid pipeline.

I’ve seen plenty of initiatives across the region aimed at “bridging the gap” between young talent and industry. Some end up a bit of a faff—lots of talk, very little follow-through. But this collaboration feels spot on because ENOC is tying student innovation directly into its own areas of focus. It’s not just pie-in-the-sky projects; it’s grounded in energy, sustainability, and tech.

The bigger picture here is important, too. Dubai has been doubling down on youth platforms—from the Young Arab Leaders initiative to digital growth hubs like Ignyte. Add in crowdfunding via *Dubai Next* and the global opportunities opened up by the *Future Accelerators programme*, and suddenly the whole ecosystem starts to look connected rather than fragmented.

Rajani Nalla, Trusity’s Founder and CEO, explained that the mission here is to empower youth with real-world, employable skills and a guided pathway from idea to launch. And honestly, I reckon that’s where many programmes slip—too much theory, not enough grit. A final investor pitch event, followed by direct incubation, could make the difference between a PowerPoint idea and an actual startup.

At Arageek, whenever we speak about young founders, I’m reminded of a workshop I once joined in Sharjah. A group of teenagers pitched an app to track food waste in school canteens. Their prototype was clunky, but the passion was unmistakeable. With guidance and structure, that kind of project could easily turn viable. That’s what makes this Trusity-ENOC link-up so timely: young people already have the spark; what they need is fuel, focus, and a nudge in the right direction.

On the flip side, it will take careful execution to ensure the initiative doesn’t become a one-off showcase. Scaling mentorship and keeping students engaged in the long haul can be, well… a bit tricky. But if done properly, it could feed directly into the UAE’s larger goals of nurturing home-grown entrepreneurs who can compete on a global stage.

Either way, Emirati students getting a real shot at hands-on experience, investor contact, and structured incubation? That’s something to be chuffed to bits about—even if, like me, you’re not a fan of every glossy startup announcement that comes along. This one feels like more than just press-release fodder; it could very definately plant the seeds of future businesses the country will be proud of.
