Presight and ALPHA X have teamed up to boost digital transformation internationally.

They plan to create an AI-driven data centre and innovation hub, focusing on smart cities.

The partnership combines AI expertise with innovative approaches to tackle urban challenges.

It aims to strengthen national infrastructure and enhance industrial competitiveness.

This collaboration could set a precedent for AI innovation in the MENA region.

Presight, the Abu Dhabi-based AI and big data analytics company, has joined forces with Dubai’s ALPHA X to fast-track digital transformation efforts across international markets. The two firms have signed a Memorandum of Understanding setting out how they’ll work together to expand the reach of advanced AI technologies and high-performance computing infrastructure. Quite the power play for the region’s growing tech ecosystem, if you ask me.

The signing took place in Abu Dhabi, with Dr Adel Al Sharji, Chief Operating Officer at Presight, and Waleed Al Aryan, Managing Director of ALPHA X, both present. Under the agreement, they plan to set up a new AI-driven data centre and an innovation hub, with an eye on boosting areas like smart city development, traffic management and public safety. Sounds like a tall order, but the two partners appear eager to roll up their sleeves.

Dr Al Sharji noted that combining Presight’s AI know-how with ALPHA X’s “innovation-first” approach could lead to scalable solutions tackling the complex problems faced by modern cities and industries. He said the collaboration shows their shared commitment to building an AI ecosystem that actually delivers measurable global impact. On the flip side, Al Aryan highlighted how ALPHA X was founded on rethinking digital transformation “at scale,” something that, in this partnership, will move from theory to execution. He reckons the deal opens the door to more efficient, safer, and sustainable systems across sectors — and that it could strengthen national infrastructure while boosting industrial competitiveness.

Now, as someone who’s seen plenty of MoUs that never quite made it past the photo op (we’ve all been there at Arageek, covering those “bold new partnerships”), I reckon this one’s got a bit more bite. Presight is no small fish, after all. It’s listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange and counts G42 as its majority shareholder — a clear sign of serious backing. The company’s focus on turning all-source data into meaningful insights fits neatly with ALPHA X’s experience in application-layer technologies. Put simply, one brings the data smarts, the other brings the infrastructure finesse. Spot on combo, really.

In practical terms, both sides are committing to drive fresh innovation and explore economic opportunities tied to the digital economy’s rapid growth. And while digital transformation has become a bit of a buzzword lately, what caught my eye here is the ambition to build an AI innovation hub that could well serve as a model for the MENA region and beyond. It’s definately one to watch — especially for startups eyeing partnership channels or tech synergy with the big players.
