Commvault and HPE Team Up to Boost Middle East’s Cyber Resilience

Commvault and HPE signed an MoU at GITEX Global, boosting regional cyber-resilience efforts.
The partnership focuses on data protection and recovery for the Middle East amid rising cyber threats.
Their collaboration will align Commvault's tools with HPE's platforms, including training initiatives.
Havier Haddad and Yacob Ahli emphasized the importance of secure infrastructures in national growth.
This partnership aims for tangible benefits, given the high costs of data breaches.
At this year’s GITEX Global in Dubai, Commvault and Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) shook hands on a deal that could give a serious boost to the region’s cyber‑resilience ambitions. The two signed a Memorandum of Understanding to underline their joint push in data protection, backup, and recovery – essentially, making sure that when the digital chips are down, businesses can bounce right back.
Both firms already work together at a global level, but this move marks a more localised focus. The idea is to tailor their joint solutions for the Middle East, a region that’s racing ahead with digital and AI adoption but, as many here at **Arageek** know all too well, still faces a growing wave of cyber threats. I reckon timing‑wise, it’s spot on. Companies are crying out for smarter, more integrated ways to secure their data across cloud and hybrid systems.
The agreement paves the way for joint go‑to‑market plans and deeper technical collaboration. In plain English: engineers and sales squads on both sides will be joining forces to align Commvault’s cyber‑resilience tools with HPE’s storage and cloud platforms, like HPE GreenLake and HPE Alletra. They’ll also develop training initiatives to get pre‑sales and technical teams up to speed. It’s not the flashiest part of the deal, but it’s the sort of groundwork that actually makes partnerships work.
Havier Haddad from Commvault’s EMEA Channel and Distribution unit sounded genuinely upbeat about the deal, saying it would help the two brands better serve their joint customers. Meanwhile, HPE’s UAE Commercial Director Yacob Ahli highlighted how initiatives like the UAE’s Vision 2031 have put data front and centre of national growth, making secure infrastructure non‑negotiable. And he’s right — a single breach these days can cost a fortune and dent trust overnight.
For me, what’s interesting is how corporate alliances like this are now becoming almost the norm rather than the exception. Everyone’s realised it’s too big a fight to go it alone. Sure, these collaborations can be a bit of a faff to get off the ground, but when they click, the benefits for local enterprises can be immense.
On the flip side, I do hope this partnership doesn’t stay just on paper — we’ve seen plenty of flashy MoUs that went nowhere. That said, given both brands’ reputations (Commvault’s been the go‑to name for enterprise data recovery; HPE’s storage credentials need no introduction), there’s good reason to believe this one will actually deliver.
In a region where downtime can mean disaster, any move toward greater data resilience is welcome. And if you ask me… this team‑up might just help businesses here sleep a little better at night. Well, at least untill the next cyber scare hits.
