So, looks like Flam, the rising star in artificial intelligence infrastructure for interactive media, just scored a tidy $14 million in funding. The Series A round was spearheaded by RTP Global, alongside Dovetail and several other backers, all apparently eager to get behind the company’s innovative tech.

The London-based outfit, founded back in 2021 by entrepreneurs Shaurya Agarwal, Malhar Patel and Amit Jayakiya, is all about making online content more engaging—think 3D and mixed reality (MR) experiences, which it boasts can load up in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 300 milliseconds. Thankfully they're not insisting on making us download another app or mess about switching browsers. Those clever touches help businesses create shoppable content or eye-catching adverts that you don't immediately swipe past—which, let's be honest, happens more often than they'd like.

I must admit, as someone whose digital attention span has gotten shorter than the average TikTok video, the idea of seamlessly jumping into rich experiences without those tedious downloads does sound pretty appealing. Flam's hoping others feel the same way; it plans to use this new chunk of change to broaden its operations not just here in the Middle East, but also across North America and Europe.

The cash injection will also accelerate the development of its generative AI tech, enhancing offerings tailored particularly towards the advertising, retail and live-streaming sectors. Plus, there's word of Flam releasing a whole spectrum of new corporate solutions soon, as part of expanding their network and fostering closer collaboration with creative studios and major content platforms.

No surprise really, given the rising popularity of immersive digital experiences—but as my nan used to say, "The proof is in the pudding," and it'll certainly be interesting to see how businesses adopt these snappy, interactive solutions. It seems Arageek readers have something fascinating to keep an eye on here; personally, I'd welcome an internet where decent content wasn't burried under endless pop-ups.

Either way, Flam certainly seems to be on the fast-track, fuelled up and raring to go thanks to this latest investment boost.
