ITC Infotech opened a Digital and AI Engineering Hub in Riyadh, marking 15 years in the Middle East.

The hub targets “AI-led innovation”, cloud services and digital engineering for enterprise scale and speed.

Executives say the move shows confidence in the region’s “digital growth path” and client demand.

Investment closely aligns with Vision 2030, focusing on Saudization and building local technical skills.

The company’s track record suggests “substance behind the announcement”, beyond a flashy launch.

ITC Infotech has opened a new Digital and AI Engineering Hub in Riyadh, marking an important milestone as the company completes 15 years of operations in the Middle East. The move adds fresh weight to Saudi Arabia’s growing tech ambitions and shows, yet again, how global IT players are placing bigger bets on the Kingdom.

The hub was inaugurated by Sanjiv Puri, Chairman and Managing Director of ITC Ltd and Chairman of ITC Infotech, a moment that felt more than ceremonial. It underlined the company’s long-term intent in Saudi Arabia and the wider region, at a time when digital capability is no longer a “nice to have” but absolutely spot on for staying competitive.

From what has been outlined, the Riyadh hub will focus on digital engineering, AI-led innovation, cloud services, automation and platform-based solutions. In plain terms, this means helping enterprises work faster, become more efficient and scale without too much of a faff. These are the kinds of capabilities I’ve seen founders across the MENA region crave—especially when they’re trying to move from pilot projects to serious growth, well… I mean, without breaking everything along the way.

Vishal Kumar, President and Regional Head for MEA, India and APAC at ITC Infotech, said the Riyadh expansion reflects the company’s confidence in the region’s digital growth path. He added that the new hub will allow ITC Infotech to work more closely with clients, deliver advanced technology solutions at scale and support Saudi Arabia’s push to build a globally competitive, innovation-led economy.

That said, what’s particularly interesting is how closely this investment lines up with Vision 2030. The plan’s focus on AI, digital skills and a knowledge-based economy isn’t just policy talk anymore; it’s shaping real infrastructure and real hiring. The hub also places strong emphasis on Saudization, with plans to develop local talent and build deep technical expertise inside the Kingdom rather than relying solely on imported skills. I reckon that’s the smart play, even if it takes longer to see results.

On the flip side, opening a shiny new hub is one thing; making it hum with meaningful projects is another. I’m not a fan of flashy launches with little follow-through, but ITC Infotech’s track record across sectors like banking, healthcare, manufacturing and travel suggests there’s substance behind the announcement. The detail about platform-based solutions, in particular, hints at longer-term partnerships rather than quick consulting wins.

Around Arageek, we’ve watched similar initiatives quietly reshape how startups and corporates collaborate across the region. Believe it or not, a few founders I spoke to recently said access to enterprise-grade AI and cloud expertise remains one of their biggest bottlenecks, so seeing more of that capability being built locally feels like a step in the right direction… even if execution will be the real test.

All in all, the Riyadh Digital and AI Engineering Hub signals that ITC Infotech is serious about the Middle East for the long haul. Whether this translates into faster digital transformation and stronger local ecosystems will become clearer over time, but for now, the intent is definately there.
