Mountain View—well known in Egypt for its real estate developments—is taking a fresh step into the world of tourism and hospitality, having launched a dedicated hospitality arm called Mountain View Hospitality. The move marks a bold attempt to go beyond bricks and mortar, planting the company squarely into the heart of one of Egypt’s fastest-growing sectors.
The big reveal came with the opening of KIN Hotel, Mountain View’s debut in hospitality, tucked away on the North Coast. It’s not your standard beachside getaway, either—the hotel aims for what’s being called a “Chillax Family Hotel” vibe, blending chilled-out relaxation with a real focus on families and a sense of community. Personally, I reckon it’s a clever shift; a lot of hotels talk about family-friendliness, but rarely put their money where their mouth is. KIN looks set to walk that talk.
Eng. Amr Soliman, who heads up Mountain View, made it clear that this isn’t just about adding another feather to their cap. “We are not merely founding a new company; we are investing in a powerhouse sector valued at over USD 20 billion in 2025, with projections to exceed USD 28 billion by 2030, at an annual growth rate surpassing 7%.” That’s a pretty staggering sum, and suggests Mountain View aren’t mucking about. Soliman also pointed out that this expansion helps create jobs and could attract foreign investment—something Egypt’s been chasing as it hustles to get itself on the global tourism map. (Having seen some friends struggle to find steady work in the region, this bit hits home for me.)
Eng. Ahmed Morsi, CEO at Mountain View Hospitality, chimed in with some thoughts on the inspiration for KIN, explaining that the name is all about kinship, family, and a sense of belonging. The hotel’s being pitched as the first major family-centric spot on the North Coast, combining comfort, tranquility, and a communal atmosphere in one neat package. As Morsi put it, KIN is only the starting point for what he described as an “ambitious expansion plan”—setting new benchmarks for hospitality in Egypt and, perhaps, beyond.
The KIN Hotel itself stands on five “pillars”—slightly grand language, but the ideas are solid. The hotel wants to deliver not just family services but also spaces designed for proper rest, community ties, and that holiday magic unique to the Mediterranean, all while maintaining top-notch quality, operational standards, and sustainability. Whether they can pull all of that off remains to be seen, but I’m not a fan of hot air; so, I’m watching for real action over headline promises.
Zooming out for a minute: Egypt’s North Coast is booming harder than ever—leading the pack in hotel expansions, supposedly growing at nearly 13% by 2030. The government’s shooting for 30 million tourists by 2028 (no small ambition!) and is busy with airport upgrades and more hotel rooms to keep up. It’s no wonder Mountain View fancies its chances.
All in all, the launch of Mountain View Hospitality isn’t just another press release—it’s a clear signal that big developers in Egypt see the future as more than just property sales. They’re investing in experiences, in happiness (to swipe a phrase from their mission statement), and in the kinds of spaces that can lift the region’s game. As somebody at Arageek who gets a proper kick out of seeing new ideas come alive—especially ones that could fuel jobs and fresh opportunities—I’m spot on in thinking that this might set a trend for other startups to have a go in the hospitality arena, even if there’s always a bit of a faff getting new ventures off the ground.
Let’s see if KIN can become a destination where families can truly “chillax” and actually connect, not just pass by. If Mountain View can manage that, they might just prove the doubters wrong… or at least give them something to talk about over tea.
