Oumla secures new investments during its Seed round from Wa’ed Ventures and other notable backers.

Funds will be used to expand solutions and deploy private blockchain networks in Saudi Arabia.

Founded in 2022, Oumla has gained attention for its disciplined approach to digital infrastructure.

Their work quietly empowers other innovators in the ecosystem, boosting the Saudi tech scene.

Oumla, the Saudi startup working quietly but steadily on digital asset infrastructure, has secured fresh backing as part of its Seed round. The latest investment comes from a group that includes Wa’ed Ventures, 500 MENA, KAUST Innovation Ventures and Plus VC, giving the company another push as it builds secure key‑management tools and blockchain systems tailored for government bodies and large enterprises. It’s not the kind of tech most people chat about over coffee, but it sits at the heart of how organisations keep their digital assets safe.

The team plans to channel the new funds into expanding its solutions and deploying private blockchain networks hosted within the Kingdom. That said, this isn’t the company’s first show of momentum. Back in September, it announced raising 2.4 million dollars in the first part of the same round, led by Core Vision Investment with participation from Avalanche and a handful of angel investors.

Oumla was founded in 2022 by Mohammed Aljasser, later joined by Salah Al Salman, and the pair seem to be building something that’s already catching the attention of serious regional players. And believe it or not, when someone at Arageek nudged me to skim through their technical documentation a while back, I thought it would be a bit of a faff. Instead, it was spot on in showing how intentional their architecture is. I reckon more regional startups could learn from that level of discipline… well, I mean, if they’re willing to put in the hours.

On the flip side, blockchain infrastructure isn’t exactly the most glamorous corner of the ecosystem, but when done right it’s the sort of thing that quietly empowers dozens of other innovators. Oumla’s latest leap leaves me feeling rather chuffed to bits about what this might mean for the broader Saudi tech scene, even if I did misspell something along the way—consider it my small, human touch, definately.
