Replit, the fast-growing software platform founded by Jordanian entrepreneur Amjad Masad, has just pulled off another eye-catching raise. The company has secured $400 million in a Series D round at a $9 billion valuation, tripling its worth in just six months. The round was led by Toronto-based growth investor Georgian, which had already backed Replit in its previous raise and clearly decided to double down.
A mix of big institutional and strategic names joined in. Among them were G Squared, Prysm Capital, Coatue, Andreessen Horowitz, Craft Ventures and Y Combinator, alongside corporate investors such as Accenture Ventures, Okta Ventures and Databricks Ventures. The round also saw participation from Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund QIA and 1789 Capital, linked to Donald Trump Jr, as well as angel investors including Shaquille O’Neal and Jared Leto. All in, Replit has now raised roughly $878 million to date.
The speed of it all is what really makes you pause. Only in September 2025, Replit had reached a $3 billion valuation after a $250 million round, at a time when it said it was on track for $150 million in annualised revenue. Now, according to figures reported by Forbes, the latest valuation puts Masad’s estimated net worth at around $2 billion, marking his entry into the billionaire club.
Replit has not shared updated revenue numbers, but it has indicated that it is targeting $1 billion in annual recurring revenue by the end of 2026. That’s a bold target, no beating around the bush, and it shows just how confident the company is in the explosion of demand for AI-powered development tools. The new capital will be used largely to expand internationally, particularly in Asia and the Middle East, while strengthening its go-to-market operations.
At the same time, the company unveiled Agent 4, described as its most powerful AI agent yet. The tool merges design and coding into a single workflow, allowing users to move from idea to working software without writing traditional code. For founders across MENA, that promise is spot on. I still remember speaking to early-stage entrepreneurs who struggled to hire developers or stretch tiny budgets just to build an MVP. If tools like this can genuinely lower that barrier, well… it changes the game.
Of course, Replit is not alone in this race. It goes head-to-head with Anthropic’s Claude Code, which reportedly has hit $2.5 billion in annualised revenue, as well as Cursor, said to have surpassed $2 billion in ARR. Then there’s Sweden’s Lovable, which raised $200 million at a $1.8 billion valuation earlier this year and has reportedly seen that figure climb close to $4 billion since. It’s crowded, fiercely competitive, and moving at breakneck speed.
And believe it or not, data from fintech company Ramp, cited by Georgian, ranked Replit among the fastest-growing software platforms as of March 2026. That sort of traction helps explain why investors are chuffed to bits to get behind it again.
From a regional perspective, Masad’s journey carries weight. At Arageek, we often talk about founders from MENA scaling globally, and this is one of those moments that feels bigger than a headline. I reckon it also signals something else: that AI-led development platforms are no longer a niche experiment but a serious, revenue-driving business model.
Whether Replit can hit that ambitious $1 billion ARR target remains to be seen. Scaling globally is never simple, and competition is only getting tougher. But one thing is clear: the company is definately not thinking small.
