Cloudforce One offers a clear, practical solution amidst the complex cybersecurity landscape.
Cloudflare is stepping up its security game with a new threat events platform, Cloudforce One, to deliver real-time intelligence on cyber threats across the globe. Launched today, the service aims to give security teams a much clearer picture of cyber threats, helping them spot cyber attackers earlier and respond more quickly—effectively doubling down on protecting their networks.
According to the company, Cloudflare’s massive worldwide network blocked a staggering average of 227 billion cyber threats each day during the last quarter of 2024 alone. Given those numbers, it's clear the company has unique visibility into cyber activity worldwide. Yet, the current problem faced by security teams across organisations, from small businesses through to major enterprises, is sorting through the noise. Many traditional threat intelligence feeds provide alerts but little context—something akin to alarm bells going off, but no one explaining what's actually going on or how best to respond. Needless to say, when it comes to cybersecurity, that sort of ambiguity can spell disaster.
Currently, experts estimate that cybercrime damages could soar as high as $10.5 trillion globally by the end of 2025. That's truly eyewatering stuff, and businesses are understandably nervy. "Insight is everything," as my friends over at Arageek often say, and that's exactly the approach Cloudflare seems to have adopted. Matthew Prince, Cloudflare’s co-founder and CEO, pointed out—quite fairly—that the industry commonly deals with stale or fragmented intel. The company's large-scale vantage point, he reckons, gives them a definite upper hand.
"Not all threat feeds are reliable or timely," observed Prince. "Cloudflare has built one of the world’s largest global networks, positioning us uniquely to provide some of the best intelligence available. This robust visibility makes the Cloudforce One platform a truly comprehensive option."
Built with Cloudflare Workers AI technology at its core, the new threat platform promises resilience even amid sudden spikes in cyber activity—perfect when the threat landscape changes rapidly. With Cloudforce One, organisations get a single, coherent snapshot of attacks, including unique timelines that detail strategies, methods, and identities of cybercriminal groups. They've essentially taken all the guesswork out of the equation.
Blake Darché, who leads Cloudforce One at Cloudflare, highlighted how critical context is in combating threats effectively: "Most industry tools flood security teams with threat intelligence that's largely irrelevant, leading to too many false positives or, worse, false assurances. The Cloudforce One threat events platform keeps customers focused firmly on the most pressing threats facing them—from simple low-level risks right through to complex vulnerabilities being actively targeted, including internal threats."
For IT teams operating on tight budgets—or frankly, a skeleton crew—this could help significantly streamline the security process and let them focus resources where they're most urgently needed.
Whether you're one of the tech geeks down at your local Pret grabbing lunch or just someone who needs straightforward, plain-English explanations of cybersecurity, it’s refreshing to see solutions like these that actually speak the language of practicality. Companies might soon be considering Cloudforce One as the cybersecurity equivalent of a full English on a cold morning—a reassuring source of dependable strength when you really need it most.
With all the complicated tech talk involved in cybersecurity these days, isn't it nice for a change to see a simple, effective solution offered clearly? With the scale and resources at its disposal, let's hope Cloudflare follows through and makes a meaningful dent in that intimidating $10.5 trillion prediction.
