Resquad AI, a Saudi startup building AI-powered solutions for tech hiring, has closed a $1.5 million seed round as it looks to scale its platform across the region and beyond. The round was led by SRG Group, with participation from a number of angel investors, signalling growing confidence in the company’s ambitions and business model.
At its core, Resquad AI positions itself as both a digital marketplace and a SaaS platform, built around a large language model developed specifically for technical recruitment. In plain English, the company says it can automate almost the entire hiring process – from screening and matching to pricing, compliance and payments – cutting recruitment timelines by up to 99 percent. That’s a bold claim, I reckon, but anyone who has sat through months of back-and-forth with developers will get why the idea is chuffed to bits appealing.
The startup has also officially rolled out its AI-driven SaaS platform and a global B2B marketplace aimed at developers. The goal is to help companies tap into technical talent without worrying too much about borders, paperwork, or endless admin tasks. On the flip side, it aims to turn underused developer capacity into measurable revenue, while supporting projects and digital infrastructure for both private companies and government entities.
Since launching in 2024, Resquad AI has quietly expanded its footprint to more than 52 countries. That detail stood out to me. For a relatively young Saudi company, operating at that scale suggests serious execution, not just slick pitch decks. It also fits neatly with the wider push behind Saudi Vision 2030 and the broader regional drive to build a knowledge-based digital economy – something the Arageek audience has been watching closely for years.
Abdullah Aljaafari, the company’s founder and CEO, described the round as a turning point, noting that it will support the creation of a global hiring ecosystem grounded in innovation and strong partnerships with both public and private sectors, with a clear focus on Gulf expansion. That said, I’ve seen plenty of recruitment platforms promise the earth. The trick, as always, will be delivery, and avoiding the process becoming a bit of a faff for companies on the ground.
The fresh capital will be used to further develop the technology, speed up regional and GCC expansion, strengthen internal teams, and form strategic partnerships with government bodies. Believe it or not, this mix of deep tech, cross-border hiring and public-sector collaboration is becoming a familiar pattern in the region – and when it works, it can be spot on. Whether Resquad AI can keep the momentum and stand out in a crowded HR tech space is something we’ll definately be keeping an eye on.
