The initiative supports the UAE's goal of a diversified and eco-friendly economy.
This collaboration positions logistics as a key player in the UAE's sustainable growth journey.
Serh Group has entered into a strategic partnership with Noatum Logistics, part of AD Ports Group, to push forward sustainable and tech-driven logistics services across the UAE’s oil and gas sector. The agreement—signed between Serh Group CEO Abdulkhaliq Alameri and AD Ports Group’s Logistics Cluster Chairman Farook Al Zeer—sets out a clear roadmap for modernising freight operations with greener, smarter solutions.
At its core, this collaboration kicks off with Serh Group leasing a fleet of long-haul trucks, along with experienced driver operators, to Noatum Logistics. These trucks will primarily serve energy clients in the Al Dhafra region, providing much-needed muscle to keep goods moving efficiently. What’s interesting is that both companies see this as just the beginning—plans are already afoot to scale the partnership in the coming years.
Alameri said the agreement mirrors Serh Group’s ambition to partner with global players that share its sustainability vision. In his words, it’s about “combining innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence” to support the region’s growth. It’s a message that feels particularly timely, given the UAE’s ongoing push toward a more diversified and eco-friendly economy.
Echoing that sentiment, Samir Chaturvedi, CEO of Noatum Logistics at AD Ports Group, said the partnership would help the company expand its ability to deliver “highly competitive supply chain solutions” to the nation’s energy industry. He pointed out that connecting Noatum’s regional capacity with its growing global network will ensure smoother trade flows across key markets.
If you’ve spent any time around UAE’s logistics and energy sectors, you’ll know that partnerships like this don’t just happen overnight. They require vision—and let’s be honest—quite a bit of careful alignment between bold corporate goals and operational realities. I reckon this deal shows that both sides are thinking bigger than short-term gains; they’re betting on long-term transformation.
For those unfamiliar, Serh Group is essentially a homegrown powerhouse born from the merger of Delma and Al Dhafra cooperatives, with over 5,000 Emirati shareholders. Its roots in the Al Dhafra region make it uniquely positioned to support national development while keeping community benefits close to heart. Noatum Logistics, meanwhile, operates a network of over 90 offices worldwide, with a team of more than 3,700 professionals serving clients across 158 countries.
What stands out here isn’t just the size of the companies involved but the shared emphasis on clean growth. Deploying eco-friendly fleets and leveraging modern logistics tech may sound like corporate slogans, but in an industry often criticised for heavy emissions, that’s no small feat. Managing supply chains in the desert heat of the UAE? That’s a bit of a faff in itself, but both sides seem spot on about the potential payoff.
At Arageek, we’ve seen how collaborations like this can ripple through the wider ecosystem—encouraging local startups to think greener, move smarter, and innovate around real-world challenges. And believe it or not, sometimes these huge corporate alliances end up opening small but invaluable doors for younger players in the region.
All in all, while the ink on this deal is still fresh, it’s a clear signal that logistics in the UAE isn’t just about moving goods anymore—it’s about moving the needle towards something more sustainable, connected, and future-ready. That, if you ask me, is definately a step in the right direction.
