Startups in the MENA region gain enhanced visibility and opportunities for scaling.
Arageek has been named a Media Partner for Expand North Star 2025, which is set to take place in Dubai Harbour from 12 to 15 October next year. The event, backed by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, is widely recognised as the largest global gathering of startups and investors. It’s not just another conference — it’s more of an ideas marketplace where ambitious founders rub shoulders with heavyweight investors, tech leaders, and international media.
The scale, frankly, is staggering. Organisers are talking about 75,000 attendees, 1,800 startups hailing from over 100 countries, and more than a thousand investors ready to scout the next unicorn. On top of that, it will run alongside the Future Blockchain Summit and Fintech Surge, giving the whole week an extra layer of buzz. As someone who’s watched this space closely, I reckon the co-location is spot on — it saves everyone a bit of a faff, and the cross-pollination between fintech, blockchain, and startups could prove very fruitful.
Events like this can feel overwhelming (I still remember walking into a similar massive expo in Riyadh once, and the sheer size had me wandering in circles for ten minutes before finding the right hall). But that’s also part of the energy. You never know who you might bump into over a quick coffee — sometimes the side conversations end up being more impactful than the big keynotes.
The mission, according to the organisers, is crystal clear: to push innovation forward, lure in global investment, and give truly bold ideas a fighting chance to scale. Seen from the outside, Dubai is positioning itself not just as a host city but as a genuine nerve centre of entrepreneurship. And while I’m not usually a fan of events turning into glossy showpieces, this one, believe it or not, keeps managing to deliver the goods.
For startups across the MENA region, Arageek’s involvement as a Media Partner adds an extra layer of visibility. We’ve always tried to highlight founders’ stories and the uphill climb that comes with building something new in this part of the world. So to see that energy amplified on a global stage? I’m chuffed to bits, to be honest. This isn’t just another tech gathering — it might well be the launchpad some of our homegrown entrepreneurs have been waiting for, even if, yes, navigating such a massive event can be a bit messy and, well… I mean, easy to get lost.
Either way, Dubai looks set to be buzzing come October 2025. And startups from Cairo to Casablanca will surely want a front-row seat. It’s an opportunity that, if taken seriously, could definatley shape the next wave of MENA success stories.
