DigitalX and United Computer signed an MoU to boost digital innovation in the UAE.

The partnership aims to enhance digital infrastructure, enabling smarter and more efficient operations.

Co-developed solutions will focus on asset provisioning for better scalability and competitiveness.

The collaboration supports the UAE's vision of becoming a global leader in digital innovation.

Both organisations are committed to advancing a digitally empowered economy and innovative ecosystem.

DigitalX, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA—the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority—has joined forces with United Computer and Management Consultancy Company to push the limits of digital innovation in the UAE. The two firms have sealed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that, on paper, looks set to strengthen how businesses manage their technology assets while driving smarter, more agile operations.

The agreement was signed by Marwan Al Shehhi, Acting Chief Operating Officer of DigitalX, and Ossama El Samadoni, General Manager of United Computer and Management Consultancy Company. According to Al Shehhi, the move reflects a shared ambition to equip organisations with the kind of digital tools that can genuinely transform how they operate. As he put it, the collaboration aims to enable “smarter, more efficient, and future-ready operations.” Spot on, if you ask me—because success today often depends on how smoothly a company can adapt its tech foundations to keep up with constant change.

The partners plan to co-develop advanced asset provisioning solutions—essentially helping organisations make the most of their digital infrastructure. The focus isn’t only on the technical side of things but also on helping enterprises achieve greater scalability and competitiveness. And with the UAE’s vision of becoming a global hub for digital innovation, this partnership feels like a natural next step. On the flip side, collaborations like this can be a bit of a faff at the start, as integration across teams rarely runs perfectly—but if done right, they can really move the needle.

El Samadoni shared his optimism too, saying the partnership “reinforces our shared commitment to innovation” and supports the UAE’s drive toward a digitally empowered economy. I reckon that’s a fair point. Having seen similar collaborations during my time covering regional startups for Arageek, I’ve noticed how alliances that blend government-backed expertise with private-sector agility often punch above their weight.

What strikes me is how DigitalX keeps knitting together these tech alliances—they’re clearly playing the long game, building an ecosystem that doesn’t just serve today’s needs but shapes the digital playbook for tomorrow. It’s the kind of thinking we try to celebrate here at Arageek, where empowering startups and innovators across MENA isn’t just a tagline—it’s personal.

And believe it or not, even in a region as fast-changing as the UAE, the groundwork for a smarter, more connected enterprise future still depends on getting the basics right: collaboration, vision, and just a touch of boldness. The DigitalX–United Computer tie-up seems to tick all three boxes… well, almost. I’m curious to see whether it delivers tangible results or just another glossy MoU photo op. Either way, it’s definately one to watch.
