The partnership combines expertise to create dependable, scalable AI while protecting sensitive data.
In Abu Dhabi, Inception has teamed up with Ireland’s Mirror Security in a move that feels very much in step with the way AI is racing ahead — and, frankly, how security risks are nipping at its heels. The two companies have agreed to co-develop new AI security products designed for government bodies and large enterprises, with both sides positioning the partnership as an answer to the region’s rising demand for tools that keep generative AI in check.
It comes at a moment when AI adoption is booming but trust, well… I mean, still lagging behind. The World Economic Forum has warned that the vast majority of cybersecurity leaders — 93%, to be exact — expect AI-powered threats to seriously reshape the risk landscape within a couple of years. Yet only a tiny sliver of organisations say they feel fully confident in securing their AI and machine learning platforms. I reckon this gap between enthusiasm and preparedness is one of the biggest stumbling blocks for businesses right now, something I’ve heard echoed in MENA startup circles more times than I can count.
That said, Inception and Mirror Security appear ready to throw their weight at the problem. Their joint products are meant to help institutions move from AI strategy to real-world deployment without tripping over issues like data exposure or regulatory compliance. It also plays into the UAE’s wider ambition to build a trustworthy, resilient AI ecosystem — a theme that comes up often in conversations at Arageek, especially when we chat with founders trying to scale responsibly rather than rush and hope for the best.
Sharing his perspective on the agreement, Inception’s CEO Ashish Koshy said that real AI potential can only be unlocked when innovation is paired with “full compliance, security and trust.” He highlighted Mirror Security’s expertise in AI security and suggested that combining it with Inception’s agentic AI work would result in tools customers can depend on. On the flip side, Mirror Security’s co-founder and CEO Pankaj Thapa pointed out that rising regulatory pressures and increasingly complex threats mean old security methods simply won’t cut it anymore. He framed the partnership as a way to deliver secure, scalable AI while protecting sensitive data — making sure privacy isn’t treated as a bit of a faff.
For those who follow the space closely, Mirror Security is known for its research-driven approach, born out of University College Dublin, and its platform that ranges from automated red-teaming to homomorphic encryption — the kind that lets you run AI on encrypted data without exposing anything. Meanwhile, Inception, part of the G42 ecosystem, has been rolling out domain-specific AI products across climate, health and business functions, all aimed at helping organisations apply AI in practical, measurable ways. I remember meeting a small Emirati startup last year that used one of Inception’s tools to streamline client onboarding; they were chuffed to bits with how much time it saved them.
Whether this new partnership will set a fresh standard for AI security remains to be seen, but the intention is spot on. And believe it or not, in a field moving as fast as this one, even a small step towards safer AI can make a massive difference for teams trying to keep pace.
