Commvault and SAAED partner to enhance UAE's smart city cybersecurity.
The UAE's cybersecurity market is expected to reach USD 1,39 billion by 2030.
Commvault will strengthen SAAED's resilience using its Cloud SaaS platform.
SAAED aims to protect smart traffic systems as digital transformation accelerates.
The partnership highlights the UAE's commitment to innovative and secure urban solutions.
During GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, Commvault and SAAED shook hands on a new partnership to boost cybersecurity and data protection across the UAEās growing smart city ecosystem. The Memorandum of Understanding, signed at the Dubai World Trade Centre, extends their previous collaboration and, honestly, couldnāt have come at a better time. The UAEās digital transformation is moving faster than rush-hour traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road, and with the government pushing the National Cybersecurity Strategy 2025, everyoneās upping their game.
To put things into perspective, the country's cybersecurity market is tipped to hit around USDāÆ1.39āÆbillion by 2030āan impressive leap with an annual growth rate of aboutāÆ11%. So, yes, the timingās spot on. The agreement means Commvault, long known for its enterprise data protection tools, will help SAAED, the Emirati firm famous for its smart traffic and inspection systems, to reinforce resilience for both its own operations and its customersā.
SAAED has carved its name as a key national player by rolling out clever tech in traffic management, parking, and safety services. The company prides itself on keeping to global standards while delivering solutions that actually make sense for the regionās needsāa combination that not many manage without a bit of a faff. From what Iāve seen around the MENA startup landscape, theyāve become something of a benchmark for how local know-how meets cutting-edge innovation.
On Commvaultās part, the deal centres around its Commvault Cloud SaaS platform, which promises flexible, scalable protection for modern cloud workloads. The system includes what tech folks love to call āAirGap Storageā and even a āCleanroom Recoveryā setupātools designed to secure backups and speed up recovery after cyber incidents. I reckon that kind of preparation will soon be standard fare for any organisation with critical data to protect, especially now that even traffic systems are becoming digital neighbourhoods of their own.
SAAEDās CEO, H.E.āÆEngineer IbrahimāÆYousefāÆRaml, said the move reflects the companyās belief that data security is a matter of ānational responsibility and operational excellence.ā Meanwhile, YahyaāÆKassab, who heads Commvaultās Gulf and KSA operations, noted that this partnership would allow SAAED to keep its smart systems safe while contributing to smarter, safer cities across the Emirates.
Here at Arageek, we often talk about the domino effect of digital confidenceāwhen businesses trust their data, they innovate faster. Partnerships like this one feel like small steps but can snowball into national impact. And believe it or not, these collaborations donāt just protect bytes of data; they end up influencing how people move, park, and even feel secure on the streets.
To me, itās encouraging to watch homegrown organisations like SAAED working with global tech firms to take cybersecurity seriously. It shows the region isnāt just catching upāitās setting the pace. Well⦠I mean, thereās still plenty of work ahead, but if this deal is anything to go by, the UAEās digital future looks secureāand bright, too.
