Finvasia Group will base the regional headquarters of five major brands in the UAE.

The UAE welcomes Finvasia's participation in the NextGen FDI initiative to boost its tech economy.

ZuluTrade, Blockmaze, and CapitalWallet are among the brands joining the UAE base.

The UAE's supportive regulations attract global tech firms to innovate and expand regionally.

This move highlights the UAE's vision to become a global innovation hub in advanced technologies.

Finvasia Group has become the latest global player to join the UAE’s NextGen FDI programme, confirming plans to base the regional headquarters of five of its major brands in the country. The move fits neatly with the UAE’s push to attract advanced technology companies and build a knowledge-driven economy—something officials have been hammering home for a while now.

Finvasia, which operates across finance, blockchain, healthcare and digital infrastructure, says it has already served more than five million clients worldwide and processed multi-trillion-dollar trading volumes through its different businesses. Quite a mouthful, but it does show the scale they’re working at. From what I’ve seen over the years writing for readers at Arageek, the UAE knows how to charm tech firms, and Finvasia is clearly no exception. I reckon the mix of supportive regulation and a get-things-done attitude tends to win people over—no surprise there.

Among the brands making the jump is ZuluTrade, a well‑known social trading platform used in more than 150 countries. By setting up in the UAE, it hopes to sharpen both its technology and on‑the‑ground operations across the Gulf. Then there’s Blockmaze, which builds blockchain infrastructure for turning everything from real estate to gold into secure digital tokens. CapitalWallet, another Finvasia company, focuses on payment and digital asset systems that bridge the gap between crypto and traditional finance—an area that’s still, you know… a bit of a faff for many institutions.

Finvasia is also bringing OneVault, a platform aimed at linking traditional banking with the digital economy, giving fintechs and small businesses access to global banking tools. And rounding out the list is Jumpp, a conversational AI-powered financial super app from India that bundles banking, saving, payments and more into one place. On the flip side, while super apps aren’t exactly new, Jumpp seems keen to position itself differently with its AI-driven chat interface, which might appeal to users who find typical banking apps clunky.

UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi welcomed the group, saying the arrival of these firms via the NextGen FDI initiative highlights the country’s commitment to nurturing cutting-edge technology and cementing its role as a global innovation hub. Sarvjeet Virk, Finvasia’s Co‑Founder & Chief Managing Director, praised the UAE’s “openness to experimentation” and said its policies match what teams need when building social platforms, blockchain networks and digital payment systems. Meanwhile, Tajinder Virk, the company’s Co‑Founder & CEO, said it felt “natural” for the group to base its GCC HQ in a country known for turning big visions into concrete opportunities.

Believe it or not, when I first started following regional policy shifts years ago, the idea of the UAE becoming a magnet for blockchain, fintech and digital identity companies felt a bit ambitious. Now it’s spot on, and Finvasia’s arrival is just another example of how those early ambitions have turned into reality—even if not every initiative lands perfectly. And yes, before anyone jumps in, that’s my mild bias showing.

The NextGen FDI initiative continues to be a key piece of the UAE’s strategy to diversify its economy and stay ahead in the global tech race. With Finvasia and its cluster of brands joining the fold, the programme looks set to pull in even more firms eager to shape the technologies powering modern life. Honestly, I'd be chuffed to bits to see more MENA startups reach that stage too… but that’s a story for another day.
