NRTC Group acquires Ripe Organic, expanding into the UAE’s thriving organic food market.

This acquisition connects NRTC with over 150 local organic farms, boosting UAE food security.

Ripe’s brand identity remains, while operations and digital platforms undergo significant upgrades.

The move aligns with UAE’s Food Security Strategy 2051 and aims for 40% revenue growth.

Farmers, consumers, and suppliers all stand to benefit from this transformative market consolidation.

NRTC Group has taken a decisive step into the UAE’s booming organic food space with its acquisition of Ripe Organic, a brand many shoppers in the country already trust for clean, homegrown produce. The deal brings Ripe’s full portfolio, brand rights, and e-commerce platform under NRTC’s umbrella, and the Group is already projecting around 40% revenue growth in its first full year after everything is properly integrated. Quite an ambition, but spot on with the way the organic market has been heating up across the region.

What caught my eye is how this move instantly links NRTC with more than 150 local organic farms. For anyone following the UAE’s food security plans—something we at Arageek bump into often—this kind of scale can make a real dent in strengthening local supply. I once chatted with a small farm owner in Sharjah who said joining larger distribution networks was always “a bit of a faff,” but when it worked, it transformed their income. Seeing this acquisition, I reckon farmers like him might finally get that steady demand they’ve been hoping for.

NRTC’s CEO, Mohammed Nassar Al Rifai, described the integration of Ripe Organic as a transformative step, pointing to the brand’s loyal customer base and its focus on sustainable, clean-label products. And believe it or not, the plan isn’t to overhaul Ripe’s identity; instead, NRTC seems keen on keeping the familiar brand intact while upgrading operations behind the scenes. That means Ripe’s customers should continue seeing the same look and values, just with a stronger supply chain and faster delivery.

What’s also interesting is how NRTC is leaning hard into digital. Ripe’s online platform is set for an overhaul to improve user experience and fulfilment. Given how picky UAE shoppers can be about delivery timing—you know?—that upgrade could be a game changer. The integration also opens doors to fresh product lines, from organic groceries to wellness-led subscription boxes, which feel very much on trend with the clean-eating crowd.

A spokesperson from Ripe Organic said the acquisition allows the brand to push its long-standing mission even further, backed by NRTC’s scale and logistics. On the flip side, this doesn’t just benefit consumers. Farmers stand to gain more predictable planning, suppliers get wider distribution channels, and retailers and HORECA partners can expect unified quality standards. It’s one of those scenarios where everyone seems chuffed to bits… well, almost everyone. I’m not a fan of seeing too much consolidation in any market, but here it feels like a move that could actually lift the entire ecosystem.

With NRTC’s decades-long presence in the region and its wider network stretching into Saudi Arabia and Egypt, the deal ties neatly into the UAE’s Food Security Strategy 2051 and Ghitha Holding’s Multiply 2.0 plans. The Group’s experience—from cold-chain systems to large-scale processing—sets the stage for a more resilient local food model, though executing such a complex integration is definately easier said than done.

Still, as the organic movement continues to grow, this acquisition could very well reshape how premium produce reaches homes across the UAE. And if the farms, suppliers and consumers all benefit as promised, then this might be one of those turning points we look back on in a few years and say, yes, that changed the game.
