Orange Egypt has announced the launch of the 15th edition of its annual Orange Social Venture Prize (OSVP) competition, offering entrepreneurs and innovative start-ups an impressive chance to snag up to €70,000 to boost their socially impactful ventures. With this competition, Orange continues its commitment to championing start-ups keen on using technological breakthroughs to tackle pressing social and environmental issues.

For those already buzzing with innovative ideas, applications are open until 18 May 2025 via the offical online platform. The competition kicks off at a local stage, where Egypt's brightest entrepreneurial minds will pitch their ideas before a panel of experts and Orange representatives. Three winning entries from this round will then move forward, gaining the opportunity to compete internationally alongside pioneering start-ups from across the globe.

On the global stage, the stakes definitely rise—with the first-place winner walking away with a generous €25,000, second place claiming €15,000, while third place earns a tidy €10,000.

What's more, for the fifth consecutive year, Orange is highlighting female-led initiatives by dedicating a special "Women's International Prize" worth €20,000 to support entrepreneurial women at the forefront of impactful businesses. This move reflects Orange's long-standing dedication to reinforcing women's roles in entrepreneurship and their essential contribution to both economic and social advancement.

According to Maha Nagy, Executive Vice President for Public Relations and Communications at Orange Egypt, the ongoing success of the OSVP competition highlights the company's firm belief in the role entrepreneurial innovation can play in effectively addressing societal challenges. "Organising this competition for the 15th year running demonstrates our deep-rooted faith in the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship in crafting real solutions for society's toughest issues," Nagy explained. She further emphasised how the contest offers budding entrepreneurs an authentic chance to secure crucial financing and receive specialised support to scale their positive impact.

"In a quickly changing technological landscape," Nagy added, "Orange remains dedicated to providing an enabling environment capable of nurturing impactful technology-based projects that promise lasting, sustainable impact."

For aspiring entrepreneurs eager to make their mark, this competition truly does seem an unmissable opportunity—not just financially, but also due to the significant mentoring and resources provided along the way. So whether your tech innovation aims to make Cairo smog-free, power education digitally, or even help reduce single-use plastic cups from your favourite street-side kushari stalls, now's the chance to get your ground-breaking ideas heard.

The deadline, once again, is 18 May 2025—so any enthusiastic entrepreneurs keen to grab this opportunity can submit their projects via the competition's official registration link online.
