Talabat acquired 100% of InstaShop’s shares from Delivery Hero SE for $32 million.

The acquisition was funded entirely through Talabat’s internal cash reserves.

InstaShop will continue to operate independently under Talabat’s grocery and retail division.

The deal enables cross-listing for partners, fleet synergies, and technology integration.

Talabat aims to enhance customer experience and expand its partner network through this acquisition.

Talabat, one of the leading food and grocery delivery platforms in the MENA region, has announced the acquisition of InstaShop, an online grocery marketplace, in a strategic move to enhance its retail and grocery segment. The $32 million deal was finalized on February 25, 2025, with Talabat purchasing 100% of InstaShop’s share capital from its parent company, Delivery Hero SE.

Despite becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Talabat, InstaShop will maintain its independent operations under Talabat’s grocery and retail vertical. This approach will allow both brands to leverage their strengths while integrating their technology and operational capabilities to provide a more seamless customer experience.

Nikola Cabarkapa, CEO of InstaShop, expressed optimism about the acquisition, stating, “This partnership will enable us to leverage Talabat’s extensive network and operational expertise, allowing us to enhance our service delivery and continue our mission of providing exceptional convenience to our customers.”

The deal brings several advantages for both companies, including cross-listing opportunities for partner retailers, improved logistics through shared fleet operations, and deeper integration of technology to optimize delivery efficiency. Talabat also expects to strengthen its partner network and expand its market presence across the UAE, Egypt, and beyond.
